Various items I found myself liking last week

15

Last week was a tough one, guys. Sammy the dog got very sick and had to be hospitalized (he’s home now, and doing very well) and I was a complete wreck.  But I still found time to locate plenty to want, starting with this excellent corduroy jacket with a removable faux fur collar. I’ve got a bit of a thing for corduroy at the moment.

This weekender is the perfect size for a couple of days worth of stuff, and I really like the not-too-loud camo print.

Here’s a smaller tote by the same company that I think is pretty cool too.

And while we’re on the topic of totes: Everlane just introduced the Form Bag, which is big enough to fit a 13-inch laptop. It comes in black and light brown too, but I’m really into this green.

Click through and zoom in on the awesome print on this shirt: stars and flowers!

Just a good silk V-neck blouse at a decent price (for silk).

I’m still looking for a good backpack for when I’m riding on my bike, and while I’ll probably end up going for something simple, cheap, and nylon, I am mightily drawn to this.

I love the idea of trouser jeans, and really dig the dark wash on these.

It bothers me so much that the new Form bag from Everlane has a cloth handle. If I’m paying that much for my bag, I want a leather strap! It completely cheapens the look, to me – not sure if that’s just me though?

Annabelle the Basset Hound got a hold of a bone. We have been terrified for 24 hours but she is fine. Love corduroy in any form.

So glad to hear it! Nothing like a dog health crisis to get the old heart rate up.

Those trouser jeans are SO good! I’ve always got room for a good pr of trouser jeans.

I hope Sammy is on the upswing to good health and that you’re doing well, Kim!

ANDI bags are the bomb. I got introduced to them when Andi, the designer, approached my roller derby teammates working out in the park. I got 2 sizes and live for them–and constantly incur compliments on–both. What your post doesn’t show is that they (the weekender and the tote) convert to a cross-body AND a backpack–and fold up to the size of an envelope! I commute almost entirely by bicycle, and the Andi tote is perfect. It’s incredibly spacious and durable, and goes from a backpack while I’m riding my bike to a chic looking dupe for the bag from “I Want to Be Her” people (I forget what their line is called) that I can carry on my shoulder or crossbody. It might be that nylon backpack you’re looking for that you mentioned further down on the post. I don’t buy purses anymore, because the ANDI tote does it all.

Paisley, thanks for your road-tested insights! Awesome to know that they are super functional as well as fashionable. My mom wants me to join her on a big trip next summer (lucky me!) and totes might be a great purchase for her and myself before we head out! Cheers!

I so wish that Everlane blouse had a deeper V. It would be perfect.

I’m so sorry Sammy was ill, but so glad he is recovering! Such a scary thing when our pets become ill because they can’t TELL you what’s wrong. Whew!

Corduroy jacket…want. And something I could probably put to good use given climate change and Texas.
Camo print duffle…want. Have absolutely no need for, is way too big for me given my short stature, but really, really want.
Smaller tote…want. Have absolutely no need for, but could probably come up with a reasonable fake reason to justify the purchase.
    Suede backpack…want. Period.

I am in the throes of an Everlane fixation – I have ordered 4 things over the summer and keep finding more and more things to order – the silk shirts are going to put my family in the poorhouse! I love the radical un-trendyness of their stuff and their color palettes are right up my street.

So glad to hear Sammy is doing better!! Like C.W., I also want the camo bag but have too many totes/weekenders now … Maybe I could use it as a fashionable cat carrier, the hard part would be convincing the cat!

I’m so glad to hear that your doggo is doing better! It’s so scary when they’re not well.

Agree. It’s the worst when pets get sick, they don’t understand why they feel terrible or what you’re doing. Glad Sammy is better too.
