These are so easy—especially this time of year—and I think they’re just a touch more flattering than straightforward button-downs too. This chambray number from J. Crew is rather perfect, and I especially like the slightly oversized sleeves.
I dig the girly touches at the wrist and neckline of this choice.
A blue Liberty floral with the sweetest, cutest print.
An oversized gingham print makes this one standout.
A pale, pale orange on a gauzy cotton top: this just looks so wearable for summer.
When I hit the blue Liberty print J.Crew popover I immediately put it in my shopping cart. Popovers are soooooo easy to wear. Just had a chance to listen to the latest podcast this morning–I think Teri Agin’s advice on tailoring was spot on and it was interesting to hear her take on fast fashion.
Agreed – that’s a lovely print. Wowsers. Also I wish I could wear orange …
yes, orange is tricky isn’t it. i remember someone said (Kim?) don’t wear those difficult colors near the face , but orange pants are a different vibe.
Oooh, comes in a bucket hat too. One of youses should get it. (I need an egregiously large brim … ) (Also in an adorable boys shirt. And some other stuff too.) It is too bad I didn’t notice this print the last time we talked about jcrew/liberty – it would be easier to wear. But I am all talk really, with the prints. (The other day though, I wore stripes. It went well.)
I really like popovers, but I’ve found them to be actually not flattering on me… depending on the material and weight, they tend to slip back on my shoulders and then pop up around my stomach, sort of like an unintended Empire waist.
