This is a really weird time of year for writing posts. It’s still cold out in much of the country, but everyone is tired of looking at winter stuff, plus all the good pieces are gone anyway. And it still seems too early to fully spring spring on you, my florals posts this week not-withstanding. So today’s post is on the random side, but I do very much like everything in it. Like for instance: Everlane makes this $78 utility jacket in a few colors, including army green, but I think it is so crisp in the white.
I read about Covergirl’s Clump Crusher mascara somewhere recently, and since clumps are the bane of anyone who is trying to add volume to her lashes’ existence, I decided to give it a go. And, true to its name, this mascara goes on incredibly smoothly. I do two layers of this and then finish off with Elizabeth Mott’s It’s So Big mascara—which fattens like crazy— and I’m set.
This leopard print skirt is so cute and flirty. I’d wear it with a simple white tee when it’s warmer, and a black crewneck sweater now.
The dusty pink (is that what you’d call it?) on this jacket is so good.
And this H&M moto jacket looks like it could be from fancy French brand Iro.
that jacket…perfect. i’ve never ordered h&m so i sized up…i figure it’s probably the right move (?) i’ve heard their sizing is funny…
re: H&M sizing, in my experience, usually their tops are true to size but you have to size up 3-4 sizes for bottoms if you have hips. They would probably fit truer to size and well on straighter figures.
Tamara and Lorange: I have to size up at H&M because of my broad shoulders. Totally with you on their pants.
(the biker jacket)
I’d love to wear that leopard skin skirt!
If it ever stops snowing..
I’ve been eyeing that Everlane jacket for some time––I think it would be perfect for plane travel because of the pockets. I have a utility jacket in army green so the white––while risky––is my plan since my best buddy (Betty) is blonde and she sheds like a crazy lady when we fly.
Also love the leopard print skirt!
I illogically really want that dusty lavender Madewell jacket!
Call it want you want but that is Mauve. Anyone who spent time in her mother’s living room in the 70’s and 80’s has an irrational hatred of that color…
I had the same response – it’s mauve!
OMG, YES!!! We moved into a house once that had carpet that color. I tore it up so we could appreciate the 150-yr old wideboard floors!
In 1983, my mother had mauve rugs installed in our house. I can’t even forget it. Still not a fan, but I feel like the younger crowd probably doesn’t associate it with rugs I hate.
Love the leopard skirt too, but be forewarned – the last skirt I ordered from & Other Stories fit well one size larger than my normal.
Covergirl Clump Crusher has been a favorite for a while, but it does lack some oomph. I just purchased the Elizabeth Mott based on your recommendation and I’m excited to try it. Thanks! And that Everlane jacket is incredible.
UPDATE: The Elizabeth Mott mascara arrived yesterday and I used it along with the CoverGirl this morning. All I can say is WOW. This is a winning combination!
Thank you for the Elizabeth Mott recommendation. I already use the Clump Crusher but needed something more. I have been eyeing the Everlane jacket since it came out last week, might just have to take the plunge today!
Hi Kim,
So I’m curious. Rather that posting new stuff, why don’t you post pics of what you wear? It would be inspiring – especially now when we don’t need more stuff – to see what you have and how you put things together.
I’ll give that some thought! Meanwhile, I sometimes show outfits on my Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/kimfrancenyc/?hl=en
Yes, I’ve been following you for a while! @beingcine
Definitely consider more outfit posts 🙂
Looking forward to trying the Elizabeth Mott mascara—–that brand doesn’t do any animal testing.
So I just went to your instagram and saw your pic “this is what 54 looks like” Do you use Botox? I’m asking seriously, the line sin my forehead are really starting to bum me out. Your forehead looks completely line free. How do you do it? My skin was always one of my best features, but now it just looks weather beaten…. Sigh
