This oversized cotton shirt is so gorgeous in lavender, a hue that appears to be having a moment. It also comes in white and light blue striped iterations, and—amazingly—rings in at under $50.
My trusty Blundstone boots are some of the comfiest shoes I own, but after several years of near-constant wear they are looking pretty trashed. So I’m considering going for this version, which has a slight heel.
I was on the Puma site looking for the new sneakers I so desperately need, but I found these house shoes instead, and I am obsessed.
Just a cool sherpa half-zip hoodie in a creamy white.
This reversible shearling coat falls waaaay outside of the GOACA price limit, but oh how I want it.
A cute mixed stripe tee that’d be fun to mix with other patterns.
Madewell is calling this a poncho, which doesn’t seem quite accurate, but I do dig the poncho-like styling and relaxed dolman sleeves.
I surprised myself by electing to include this sequin cardi, but I’m actually on the lookout for chic cropped cardigans to wear with some of the sleeveless party dresses in my closet that I still want to wear, only not with my arms exposed.
And finally, Jenn talked about these fleece-lined sweatpants on the podcast recently, and a lot of you have asked me about them. You don’t have to get them in red, but I think it’s so fun and poppy. A pair is on its way to me even as I type.
Just ordered the Blundstones. I’m in Australia where they originate from. I’ve had the originals but I’m excited for the heeled version.
Bought those Blundstones 4 years ago; love them so much that I got a pair in antique brown in September and have been wearing them every chance I get. Tip: check out resale sites for better deals on barely-worn pairs… the list price has gone up around $50 since I got my first pair but my almost-new brown pair was only $125 at the RealReal 🙂
Man, I need to update my avatar/profile pic. :p
The Baleaf fleece-lined pants, also available on Amazon, are another good choice and priced similarly (altho they don’t come in red). I have numerous Baleaf leggings and pants in my closet for various seasons and they fit and wear well.

The fleece sweats (red is sold out in my size) in grey are in my amazon shopping cart even though today’s temperature is going to be in the 80’s. Working hard here to fight post-election-depression. I know there’s lots to be happy about, but still…Texas…
TX and FL….I know! But the good news is that it wasn’t a bloodbath, just a little light spotting. And we can hold the senate if we get people mobilized to vote in GA!
I just recently bought those Blundstone boots-my first pair-in the burgundy/oxblood color. And I have that sequined cardigan in my J.Crew cart.
Great minds etc!
That IS a hot tip! Thanks!
I, too, love my Blundstones and just last year picked up the pair you are eyeing. The slight heel is fantastic and the toe box is a teensy bit more tapered. Love them even more than the traditional version!
I have those Blundstones, I like the slight heel. They were my first ever pair and took me a while to break in, as I found them very tight when pulling onto my foot. Not sure if they’re all like that, but just to be aware.
I have these Blundstones as well and they are amazing. Wore them from November til April pretty much non stop here in New England, and they’re great for travel too bc you can walk in them all day.
Ok I just bought the sequin jacket. Darn you France! (shakes fist). HOWEVER. I feel the need to offer a fair warning about that lavender color which is stunning, BUT, if you have white/ gray hair like me, that lavender color suddenly takes on an unexpected sweet old grandma vibe. A week ago I ordered a sweater from J Crew in the same exact hue and what I thought was the new sumptuous color of the season just made me look 90 years old. NOT that there’s anything wrong with that but you know. I’m 55. Hold on.
Have you considered wearing the sweater with something edgy? I just bought a lavender crewneck pullover from J Crew, and I got a lot of compliments wearing it with a white tee layered underneath peeking out, my jeans and black Converse. Not old lady at all!
Yesterday I asked for clarification on our health savings account “catch up” amount for next year, which one is eligible for in the year one turns 55. :/ I had magenta streaks added, partly to cover some emerging grey, last year. I forget about it, and then look in the mirror, oops, clashes with my top. Oh well. Maybe accessories can turn the lavender a bit more punk rock and less grandma?
I would love a roundup of cardigans or boleros or whatever to wear with sleeveless dresses for warmth and arm camouflage purposes.
Great post,I love every single darn thing! Seriously considering the sequined cardi, it would really liven up a few old dresses and tops I have…
I love the cream sherpa and striped tee so much but that shearling is amazing. I have a COS problem (where I own only a very few things) and an equally urgent Alex Mill problem (not yet got anything from there): I love everything in each store and the quality of the fabric and production is so much better than most of what I see, that I can’t pull the trigger on anything.
I just bought my first COS piece on eBay, where they have a ton of COS clothes for cheap, if you want to start there first. COS’s styles are forgiving enough that I think they’re a good bet for an online purchase. I bought a black sweater dress and am super happy with it. There’s also a decent amount of Alex Mill, though they still seem a bit pricey to me.
I can attest that there is lots of COS on Poshmark as well, and if you live in NYC, a lot ends up at Housing Works. I have a COS cardigan that I love and fits me well that is a size XS. There is NO part of my body that is XS so just be aware if you are buying online that their things run very large.
I love everything at Alex Mill, too. And I can tell you that the few pieces I own are great quality for the price. It upsets me that they never have sales, but Nordstrom has an Alex Mill capsule and those things do go on sale-hot tip, lol!
I have those boots! They are my first pair of Blundstones (I consider the traditional model a little too utilitarian for me) so I don’t know if this is a universal issue with the brand BUT this style has a seam fairly high on the vamp that rubs/irritates my foot. You can’t see the seam but you can feel it.
I never thought I had plump feet — if anything, not wearing heels during the pandemic has slimmed them down! — but just a word to the wise that new pairs may need to be stretched if you feel this same irritation.
Fleece sweatpants changed my winter life. I can walk the dog in comfort, and even spend an hour walking with a friend in a Chicago winter.
So fun -a fantastic round-up of clothes! I am quite tempted by the boots, and the lilac shirt…
Those fleece sweatpants look cozy, and I know the Sherpa lining is on the inside for warmth, but they almost look reversible. Sweats with Sherpa in the exterior would be so cute!
