Things I bought, things I want

13

I’ve got fall layers on the brain lately—as is made obvious by the content of this post—starting with this shirt jacket; click through and zoom in to see the awesome and slightly trippy print.

I have been craving a new peacoat ever since I wore my beloved old one into the ground, and this little number just seems ideal. Here and here are a couple of less pricey—but still quite lovely—options.

This popover sweater jacket looks like the perfect thing to throw on with sweats for the morning dog walk.

I like how thin and therefore layer-able this great red cardi is.

This puffer is so totally in my wheelhouse; I’m often a sucker for a collarless jacket.

I’ve been thinking about—and kind of wanting—a classic Agnes B snap cardigan like I wore back in the 80s and 90s, and which was a key component of any cool downtown girl’s wardrobe back then. Also, I would be exceedingly happy with this leather iteration, which exceeds the GOACA price limit by a country mile, and which I for sure will not be acquiring.

A cute denim jacket with cool front pockets and a faux-shearling collar. Here’s one from Levi’s that’s cheaper.

This sweatshirt just cheers me, which is as good a reason as any to go for it, right?

I still wear my agnes b cardis. Usually my black one. Often find them on ebay. They are timeless and chic.

You can find some Agnes B snap cardigans on gem.app There was also a snap red leather one for $810. (which is better than 2k, but still too pricey for moi). One additional note from yesterday’s podcast…the closet person I hired gave me this piece of advice when I felt frustrated with what I had in my closet…she said to select one thing you really want to wear that particular day––a certain pair of jeans or your red sneaker or your Agnes B snap cardigan and then build an outfit around that one particular piece. For some reason changing my perspective that way has helped keep me from that staring-into-my-closet-and-whining-I’ve-nothing-to-wear phase which I too easily fall into.

Help me out here. That Agnes B cardy looks a little Mummsy to me and I’m by no means fashion forward. How are you styling it and are you sizing down?

Y’all have the best taste/ideas. What am I missing?

I have recently become obsessed with the Agnes B snap cardigan. I bought a cute v-neck cotton sweater on ThredUP for about $30. I’ve seen the snap card is on eBay but I never know whether to trust the sellers.

Also Agnes B– the deep v-neck sweater! I used to envy the art girls at gallery openings who wore them but somehow never got one for myself.

I lust after the cool European styles that COS has but even the oversized is prob. not going to fit me as I am an XL and their L is 41 inch hips (L is their largest size). Any suggestions on other sites/stores that have the COS vibe and prices???

Cos sizing is very generous usually. If you go for items that are loosely fitted you should be fine. In loose dresses especially I find I need to go down two sizes and they are still voluminous .

Muji is doing a really great dupe of the snap cardi, at a much lower price. I love that place

Oh-my-gosh, you have just done a good deed for the Jackie cardigan bereft as well…and I spotted some French terry lounge pants in a style that I’ve been wanting for a while. Good on you.

One of my favorite tops in the early 90s was an orange snap cardigan sweatshirt from the Gap. Got so many compliments on it back then and wish I still had it!

Same, CW, same. I recently acquired the animal print cardie with the bright stripes down the placket and I am feeling myself! 😉
