It’s getting hot hot out, and I’ve been on the hunt for cool cotton dresses that don’t bare my arms (though on many days it’s too steamy to care about that). As soon as I spied this shirt dress from Madewell I knew I needed to own it: it’s got short sleeves, which is rare in a shirt dress, and the blue and white vertical stripes are both fresh-looking and flattering. The fact that it’s also got pockets just seals the deal.
I love the look of Ray Ban aviator sunglasses, but their shape does my face no favors. These hexagonal frames work, though, and are just as old-school cool as the aforementioned aviators.
My new platform Birkenstocks will be here any day and I’m so excited. I got a vegan pair even though I do wear leather, because they’re more lightweight.
This cute bracelet from my one of favorite jewelry brands, Ten Thousand Things, would look great on its own or in a stack. And it’s currently marked down, which is exciting. Click here for more Ten Thousand Things goodness.
These clog sandals look so authentically vintage, and I even like the brown, which I almost never do.
A crisp poplin A-line button-down that also comes in white, and is reasonably-priced enough for me to consider getting in both shades.
The stripes on this button-down are just a little bit fatter than one usually sees, which I think is pretty chic. I also love red, white, and blue stripes pretty much on anything.
Just the most stylish little quilted laptop case.
I continue to covet polo shirts, and this one is so perfectly preppy chic.
And finally: lower-waisted Dre jeans by Rag & Bone are my current favorites, and I’m very tempted by this white pair.
I (FINALLY) ordered a new pair of clogs – I used to have them made through Clogmasters (RIP) but someone here told me that Sven Clogs took over the fitted client list – HURRAY! They are shipping today and I can’t wait to put them on. The only downside of having someone make you whatever you want is that it is so hard to choose!
Ooooh. What kind are you getting? Unless it is nosy of me to ask – then just ignore me!
Not at all! I got the natural wood sole, unstained, pewter leather with a leaf punch.
How exciting!! Good for you.
I have those platform Birks from last year, and I get compliments on them constantly! Also, Warby Parker has a dupe (called Cyrus) for those Ray-Bans – I recently ordered them with my prescription. Classic aviators look not-great on me, and I find this shape to be not only more flattering, but way more interesting.
I love wide-stripe button-downs too! I agree they are hard to find, but I’m wearing one today (coral and white). I’m not usually keen on red white and blue stripes but that Sezane one is just muted enough for me.
As I am typing this our humidity is 96% so that Madewell dress is looking pretty nifty. Shout out to the Dre jeans. I have a couple pair and they fit well––I do hang them to dry for fear of shrinkage, but that’s no biggie.
I had my senior pics taken in shoes almost exactly like those (in 1977). I loved those shoes!
