Unlike most of the discount sites I’ve covered this week, Neiman Marcus Last Call has a lot to offer in a variety of sizes, and they have so much good stuff from Vince, like this pretty blue-on-blue top.
And this graceful wrap dress, which has excellent dress-it-up/dress-it-down potential.
Just a good basic silk top.
I know this shirtdress looks a little sister wife here, but I think that’s just the styling. With the sleeves rolled up and the top buttons unbuttoned, I’ll bet it’s aces.
It’s tough to find a good button-down in extended sizes, and I like the purplish hue here.
A navy V-neck cashmere sweater is just a good thing to own.
This dress is really appealing to me, and I’d wear it as styled, with the belt low.
From Ba&sh, a line I discovered in Paris a few years ago: twill jeans in a fun color.
A cashmere poncho is good for the kind of transitional dressing we’ll be doing soon, and I like that this one is ribbed.
This striped silk blouse would be good for the office, but I’d throw it on with jeans too.
I love a grey suede boot, and this one is just so chic.
And finally: this knotted flat sandal looks eminently comfortable, and is as cute as the day is long.
I do a “dash through” visit to Austin’s Last Call about every two or three weeks because new “stuff” is always passing through. And if you find something at their sales even better (there’s one this weekend!).
The navy sweater, the jeans (love the pockets) and those sandals are going to be super hard to resist. Great, great choices. Thank you, Kim, for such an interesting week of posts!
Is the Vince dress the same as the one from the other day, only styled a different way?
Apparently yes. Flaky me.
Not flaky. Consistent.
I actually ordered the dress after you posted it the other day.
Shirtdresses… sigh. So great in theory, so much frump potential in practice. The problem with this one, IMO, is not just the styling, it’s the gathers at the waist, the mid-calf length, the drab color. There’s something inherently utilitarian about shirtdresses, which is o.k. in itself, but somehow they need to be balanced with a little frivolity, weirdness, joy. And if you throw a lot of accessories at the problem, the outfit can lose the streamlined effect that makes the shirtdress so easy to wear.
Kim -I love this week’s posts. I am such a bad bargain shopper and with your “personal shopping” I have snagged 2 great buys this week. I just bought the Loeffler Randall slide and the other day I purchased the Ulla Johnson top from Barney’s Warehouse. Can you do this more often? This could be a whole separate blog! – Julie
Hey, Kim — that Vince dress is actually the same one you posted for Nordstrom Rack, just styled differently, FYI!
The blue dress, I should say.
Thanks Kim!! I really enjoyed this week as well!
Love that blue Vince top and the dress!! Would snatch up both if I wasn’t on a spending moratorium. You always have great posts but this week has been fun and very enjoyable, made the drab Iowa weather so much brighter. Thanks, Kim!! And would love it if you could post a link to your WSJ article……..
The article is behind a paywall, but here it is: https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-one-dress-women-of-every-age-should-own-1521735534?mod=searchresults&page=1&pos=1
Thanks, Kim. I didn’t know if there was a way around the paywall. I will try accessing via my local library.
I was able to access it via my library. Thanks, library! And librarians!!
Words cannot express how much I love your blog. You are totally my personal shopper!! Thank you!
I used to get a lot of my Vince pieces from Last Call. Especially cashmere sweaters. I think selection has dwindled a bit in recent years. But this is one I always keep my eye on!
Great series!
Nordstrom Rack is having a two day flash sale on Vince RIGHT NOW. Lots of good stuff.
