Popovers aren’t especially new, or even new to me, but suddenly they’re all I want to wear, because they’re so easy, and a little more feminine than button-downs. This band collar specimen from Madewell is so crisp that you could wear it untucked and still look put-together.
Here’s a silk popover that I think is quite elegant.
I like the utility pockets here, and the slightly washed-out navy blue.
Here’s a choice in chambray that has an especially deep band collar. I think it looks more polished than most chambray shirts.
And here’s a dark denim option with ever-so-slightly puffy shoulders.
I’d wear this striped shirt just as it’s shown here: untucked with my favorite blue jeans.
This top skews a bit peasant-y, and it’s a really good red.
I find the subtle ruffle collar and the crisp, graphic print, quite appealing here.
I’ve got this Everlane popover in my shopping cart, and am most likely going to pull the trigger; I like the big pocket and drop shoulders, as well as the slouchy fit, and it’s one of the cheapest of the bunch. Here’s a similar top that’s slightly more refined, from Theory.
The squiggly print on this Rachel Comey top verges on the wackadoo, but I’m kind of loving it.
Red denim is kind of unexpected, and a nice weight for the weather we’re having now.
Baby blue is not my favorite color, but I think this would be great with a brown corduroy blazer.
