I’ve got a really random mix today; lots of footwear and knitwear, because that’s been on my mind, for whatever reason. These Rachel Comey clogs are so outstanding I’m really having a tough time wrapping my head around not going for them. Such an excellent lipstick red, and a great, slightly retro-ish shape.
Everlane just introduced this cashmere wrap sweater this morning, and even though it’s not a true wrap sweater, I’m jonesing for it. It’d be perfect with skirts and dresses.
I also like the idea of a soft, roomy grandapa cardigan in snowy off-white.
More Rachel Comey: her popular Mars mule in mustard yellow feels like a nice way to add a little pop to any outfit.
Just a nice, roomy cashmere boyfriend sweater with great proportions.
I’m getting ahead of myself season-wise with these cute sandals (and I desperately need a pedicure before I could wear them) but they’re pretty great, with just a hint of a platform.
This preppy-chic rain boot is a little more in synch with what’s going on outdoors at the moment.
The secret to a good rainbow stripe print, I believe, is to have a little black in the mix, as this excellent cardigan does. Also, it’s from Veronica Beard, where I’m pleased to report they’re offering certain items (including this) in extended sizes.
I have had an acute case of “boyfriend sweater on the brain” lately and the VINCE one would be in my Dr. Fadhion bag if I could swing it right now. Ugh… It even comes in XL!
I was very excited about that rainbow sweater that comes in plus sizes–until I saw the price. Ouch!
I’ve never owned a pair of clogs but recently ordered the No.6 Old School High Heel clogs in black. Don’t know why but they look fab online so I’m kind of excited for them. My mom had a bitchin’ pair of Candie’s in the early 80’s that I would clomp around the house in feeling wicked cool but sadly outgrown (damn her tiny feet!)by the time I had mastered a curling iron and could wear lip gloss that wasn’t Dr Pepper Lipsmacker. Fingers crossed these give the same vibe. For sure buying a pair of Swedish Hasbeens sandals for summer though. I have promised myself this every year for the last 8 but THIS IS THE YEAR! I am so into them.
Was perusing mules as well, which were always no for me buuuut have a friend who wears her chunky heeled ones with EVERYTHING and I have to say they add a fresh twist to the end of winter so bored with boots blahs. Anyhoo, took the plunge with the Botkier Shanna block heeled version. Coming soon!
I bought those slide sandals in the late 90s when they were $5 on the street in Chinatown.
Ooooh I already fell off my austerity wagon with a few things on sale at Boden. Dare I add that wrap sweater?
I fell off too! (Not Boden, the Tradlands sample sale.) I’m glad I’m not the only one. February is such an austere month — it was probably a mistake to add personal austerity to the overall gloom & pervasive sense of “no.”
Ummmm forgive me for stating the obvious but what about those jeans shown with the red clogs?? They look like they need a good home in my denim cubby…
Yes I need those jeans!
They are delightfully stripey!

C.W. to the rescue!
Forget the rest and go for the red clogs!!
It’s that time of year when everything in my closet feels boring and over worn and tired even though that isn’t the reality. The red Rachel Comey clogs would fix that feeling, right?
Those red clogs look like they would fix just about anything…
