Let’s check out some striped sweaters

12

Stripes are the easiest print to wear, and for that reason I’m a real sucker for them. I like ones that skew a little bit French, like this Nili Lotan number, which is currently marked down.

A well-priced cashmere blend in appealing camel.

This cashmere specimen rings in a just $57, which is nothing short of miraculous.

I like how fuzzy-looking the stripes on this one are.

And I really like the deep cuffed sleeves here.

The neon stripes really pop here.

This just looks insanely cozy.

This cashmere boatneck sweater is another very french chick option.

I love the combination of red and black—for a year in college I wore nothing else—so this is aces in my book.

This is just so cute and preppy-ish, and I dig the electric blue.

I do love a sweater with a metallic element, which this one has.

And speaking of metallics, the gold stripes here are quite winning.

This is just a very cheerful choice.

There’s something a bit retroish about the color combination here.

So timely – I was browsing La Ligne’s sale when what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a Kim France post and stripes so sincere! (OK, so I’m a sh*tty poet. )

        D. – I am not a jerk/but can’t seem to get over/ striped pitched as two syllables

(And, yes, I view “pitched” as one syllable, too. Is is an accent/geography thing?

I couldn’t figure out how to type in an accent mark in the comment field to indicate it was to be pronounced, strip-ED.

Fun post! So, my prep-ometer is spotty. This may be one of those unanswerable questions, but what makes the red and blue striped sweater preppy? Is there an eau de rugby, or something else I’m not picking up? Mostly what I remember from the last century, in terms of prep sweaters, was that one navy sweater with the little white v’s on them. As for current trends, these days I have no access to prepdom, as I am a) out West, and b) hibernating like everyone else. I do *like* those stripes … I am just curious.

The LL Bean Norwegian Sweater! I still wear mine today – it’s 35 years old and still in great shape (with the exception of a moth nibble or two).

Moths! I was sorting through some of my sweaters to prepare for winter, (Nothing to do but be at home and I’m finally getting around to the task at hand. ) when I spotted a moth hole right smack in the front of my favorite cashmere v-neck. DAMMIT! I’m requesting a post on garment care, or at least anti-moth miracles, if anyone knows of them.

Serious question, Kim: Is Diana Trout from Younger based on you? Please don’t be offended, she is my spirit animal. Such a cute/fun show and she is your doppelganger.

Gosh, I don’t think so, Roya, but I’ver also never watched Younger.
