Because it’s getting seriously chilly here in New York, just as I knew it would after such a mild early fall. There is maybe nothing I dislike more than being cold, so scarves are a real must-have for me as soon as the temperatures start to drop, and this red leopard print is just stellar.
The multicolored stripes here mean this one will work with just about anything.
This is a puffer scarf, which appears to be a trend this season, and I like it because it’s less bulky than other puffer scarves I’ve seen.
Another puffer scarf, this one with a lovely Liberty of London floral print.
And one more puffer, this one in basic black.
This is Isabel Marant and pricey, but I think its simple-but-cool pattern would be deeply versatile; here is something that is similar in feel but cheaper.
An oversized plaid in soft tones.
I wouldn’t typically think of a polka-dotted scarf as a sophisticated thing, but this one somehow really is. Also, it’s from Chan Luu, and you know how I feel about the lightness, utility, and general awesomeness of Chan Luu scarves, especially for travel.
I can rarely resist pink and red when they’re thrown together.
The stripes here are metallic, which is cool.
I love how this looks kind of blurry.
This reminds me so much of the year in college (that I’ve already told you about at least once) during which I wore pretty much nothing but red and black. I think it would look nicely dramatic with a long black coat.
The blurry Loewe one is gorgeous, and the other color choice for it is lovely too.
I can’t answer for how it looks, bc that varies, but if anyone else likes bulky scarves but finds them to take too long to arrange, you can try doubling it before you put it on.
Having collected scarves since I was in university about fifty years ago, I have an embarrassing number of them – but I still buy at least one every year. The red leopard one is fabulous, and nothing beats a silk and cashmere blend (like the Chan Luus). The Chan Luu also comes in a gold, and although that is certainly not a great colour on me, it would add a glorious shot of colour to a dark winter coat. Want!!
I have a couple of leopard print scarves but they are nothing NOTHING compared to the gorgeous red one.
I just followed the link for the Liberty print down scarf- I love their prints! But nope……the woman wearing it on the JCrew site looks like she is being strangled by her down comforter. I just can’t do it. Darn. Love all of the other scarves though! Gorgeous!
You made me go look, and it’s hilarious!
I’m a scarf collector and I find that when I spend more on accessories, I take better care of them. (Midwestern ethics?)
Chan Luu scarves are the best. I am so obsessed with them. Love the Isabel Marant scarf, too. Lovely print.
I just recently left a gorgeous cashmere scarf with a blue black and tan tiger print on Metro North, so this is either perfectly or horribly timed. Great picks!
I hope someone turned it in! You never know.
Precisely why I very rarely pull the trigger on expensive removable accessories.
