I know we’ve likely got weeks and weeks of winter left—possibly months—but it’s in the 60s here in Brooklyn today, and that’s put me in mind of dressing with fewer and lighter layers. I love the slightly asymmetrical business going on on this quilted jacket from Cuyana (which also comes in black). Here’s something similar and a bit cheaper.
This is pricey for a plaid jacket, but the colors are so good, and so is the shape.
This little boucle number would be at the top of my list were I looking to buy a jacket. It’s got toggle buttons, which I always love, and such a chic little silhouette.
This bomber isn’t left in many sizes (it’s on sale) but maybe you’ll get lucky. I just love the herringbone.
A cute and cheap little jacket that also comes in leopard print and faded denim iterations.
I’d layer this track jacket under my Barbour raincoat for a slightly sporty vibe.
I dig the stand collar and contrasting hues on this specimen.
I adore houndstooth, and this Anine Bing shirt jacket is the ideal canvas for it.
A lightweight shirt jacket in happy yellow.
This furry bomber would add a dose of fun to pretty much any outfit.
How cool is this plush little jacket from Vince? I don’t usually love pastels, but this is just fantastic.
This long zip sweatshirt is pretty put-together-looking for a sweatshirt, and reminds me of something pricier I once acquired from Maria Cornejo.
The GANNI is drool-worthy.
Right now with a wind chill factor it’s 23 degrees outside with snow flurries and yesterday our high was 86 degrees. Jackets? Sure, why not? Maybe tomorrow bathing suits. I am pretty much going climate change crazy here. And to go back to this week’s EIF podcast and adult ADHD…it happens that the just posted on Tuesday podcast Ologies with Alie Ward is all about ADHD with an expert neurologist, Russell Barkley. It is a must listen if you have ADHD or live with someone who does or has a kid with the same. Informative and fascinating. Also, Ologies is, in general, a really good podcast.
Excellent series on ADHD spectrum.
I have been eyeballing that Cuyana wrap jacket all season. It looks like it would drape nicely when open. I think of it as the antithesis of the ubiquitous North Face puffers that it feels like every third person walking around a western city is wearing.
I’m loving that Cuyana coat, just not loving the colors for me. If it came in nice olive or navy it would be winging it’s way to me already
That herringbone bomber is a great find. Forever classic. Can anybody here speak to Apiece Apart’s sizing? I looked at the chart and fall squarely between two sizes. I’m thinking of going bigger for layering purposes.
Today I’m wearing a hip length denim coat and some khakis I bought TWO MONTHS AGO for this very moment , which will probably not recur until April, so I say: it’s never too soon
I might be weird, but I love Winter – the snow, the cold, sweater, stews…ALL of it! I’m sure you could talk me into a new Spring coat, however.
I love winter too! We are a rare breed. I deplore sweating and swelling all summer long. I love the invigorating cold and the coziness too. I also like the clothes better.
Thank you for introducing me to Cuyana 🖤
These are all so cute, and yet I have never lived anywhere where there is an actual season in which a “spring jacket” is an at all feasible garment. Especially in these global warming days, it goes from freezing to sweating in 24 hours without ever pausing in that sweet spot of 50-65F long enough to wear such a thing as a spring jacket. Every spring jacket I have ever purchased has hung in my closet unworn because its utility is self-evident and yet entirely mythical :(.
