It’s raining and cold this morning in New York, but I’ve got white (and, in the case of this covertly sexy number, off-white) blouses on my mind this morning. You could wear any of these, layered, right now, but I like them best when it’s a little warmer out and I can throw them on with just a blazer or nothing at all.
This peasant top is on the pricey side, but it’s so feminine and chic.
Here’s a good, fairly streamlined piece to pop on under a blazer.
This satin blouse is another item that I find stealthily sexy, and it could work as well for the office as it could a party.
A twist-front top is easier to wear if you’ve got stomach pooch to camouflage than a traditional button-down.
I have wanted this gauze top from Xirena since last summer, but I kept stalling and then it it kept selling out, so I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on the early side this season.
I like the idea of this streamlined hippie girl top with a skinny skirt and heels.
A slightly slinkier take on the classic button-down.
I think we are all craving a taste of Spring at this point, Kim. I just ordered a white oversized tux front popover from J Crew and I can’t wait to wear it with my khakis.
Summer is the season I find the toughest, fashion wise. Man, short-sleeved blouses are hard to come by! I don’t like sleeveless (on me) and longer sleeves are simply too hot.
Amen to that. What is up with designers and manufacturers on short sleeves? You literally can’t find them anywhere these days. Have these people never been in an office?
Does anyone make longer twist-front blouses? I love the idea, but find that they are always too short in front for my long torso
I hear you, Ellie!
Amor Vert, maybe?
That Sezanne number is gorgeous. If only I weren’t allergic to hand washing.
That Nili Lotan number reminds me of delicious soft-serve ice cream. So beautiful!
How long is the Sezanne one, Kim? I love it but worry it looks like it might be short and have a band on the bottom….
My cat was sitting over my shoulder reading this post with me and when I “ooed and ahed” over the Sezane blouse, he got a smirk on his face and said, “You haven’t learned a thing in our time together, have you?”
Website says 24 inches – thanks for catching this before I actually ordered it.
I adore a white shirt, blouse, t-shirt, sweatshirt… And it isn’t too soon in Texas…80 degrees as I type. Oy and Egad.
