A very feminine dotted number with some frilly business at the chest that might typically turn me off but that I really like here.
The knotting at the waist is nice and figure flattering.
I’d wear a long-sleeved tee or a turtleneck with this wrap dress when the weather turns cool.
The slit sleeves here are an interesting touch, and it’s such a good blue.
Such a pretty, sweet velvet dress with cool black-on-black dots.
I like that the puffed sleeves here are not too puffy, which would overwhelm this otherwise nicely streamlined dress.
I usually don’t like sweater dresses, but this is so sexy.
I love that the zipper allows you to choose your own neckline, and also that this option looks so damn comfortable.
More black-on-black dots, this time on a lovely, flowy confection.
I like when an otherwise straightforward dress has one or two interesting details, which is how I feel about the contrasting belt and asymmetrical hemline here.
This feels wearable for weekends or work.
And this feels very work-to-evening.
Kim, this post just hit the spot for me. Thank you!
Me too! Thanks! (Some of the comments below are hilarious btw.)
I don’t normally comment on here, and most of your selections are absolutely spot on. But that blue dress with the front zipper? Is 1970’s housecoat a thing now?
I really do think almost all your selections are spot on, but I’m having a little trouble with the blue 1970’s housecoat with the front zipper. It’s classic Edith Bunker. Really? What am I missing?
And with those mules that look like slippers? Awful!
Thank you for the under $100 options! I love your site but usually can’t afford most of the clothes in the general posts, so I look forward to these.
I’ve figured it out finally: Dresses say vulnerable to me. I despise them.
God, I wish I could live in pants, but as a 5’1 girl with apparently bigger than average thighs, I feel like a sausage in most of today’s options. It sucks, but dresses are way more comfortable.
I think the blue zipper would look great slightly loose, with tougher accessories.
Meanwhile, I’m in love with the blue asymmetrical and the plus size version is just… not.
I love this post! 1.It is a constant challenge to find dresses that are long enough and these are great! 2. It completely validates a purchase I made two weeks ago– the velvet black on black dots from Mango! The best part of all was that I ordered two sizes and I got to send the larger size back.
I’m with you Emily. Hard to find dresses that are long enough (particularly at reasonable price point). Love that you got to send the larger size dress back! I just love it when that happens!
