Department of unexpected investment pieces

11

I returned from my brief (and pleasant!) Caribbean jaunt Monday night, just in time to enjoy yesterday’s bitter, slushy weather. The only good thing about that is that it gave me a reason to wear my Penelope Chilvers Incredible Boots, which I debated buying for about a year before I finally went for it, and which have been rewarding me with stylishness and comfort ever since. They’re shearling-lined and therefore deeply warm, and I really love the pop of color. I know winter’s on its last legs—and I know these aren’t cheap—but they have killed it on the cost-per-wear, and are in surprisingly good shape for how long ago I purchased them.

I’m another person who bought these after seeing them recommended by you, Kim, when I realized warm feet are essential in winter now that I’m relying less on the subway for local errands (a pandemic-induced change). The soles are amazing in rain and snow, and the “gintonic” color I got matches pretty much everything while making my outfit that much more interesting. A very worthy investment!

These are The Dream. Generally making do with sheepskin inserts……:)

Those are just lovely! And I see there is a “Repair” section on the website, so maybe those are resolable. (I appreciate the website, as I’ve basically forgotten how to take care of shoes. I’m going back to read more.)

This page has the tips: https://penelopechilvers.com/care

It is a good thing my head is attached, the number of things I’ve forgotten.

I saw some really cute sneakers there, uh oh.

I have been eyeing the Incredible boot for years – how old are yours Kim? And are they okay in snow and wet? They are so beautiful I worry about them getting salt stains and water stains. Intermittantly I see 20% on for the boots on my insta feed but still haven’t made the purchase.

They’re great in the cold and the wet, CeeJay. I’ve had them maybe five years and they’re still in excellent shape.

I can attest to this, they are really great in the winter weather and hold up great. I live in Boston and bought the ink ones after seeing them on a post here a few years ago(?!) and don’t regret it.
