Consider the clog sandal

Cool though it may be, the clog is not a pretty shoe. It is galumphy and unfeminine in the extreme; the kind of footwear that can be styled to look cool, but rarely to look seriously good. I do like clog sandals, however. They are walkable and fun, and while they might not be the most delicate shoes in your summer arsenal, they will be among those you reach for most. I’m considering this Loeffler Randall pair: it’s on the splurgy side, but the tri-colored straps—three great neutrals that go great together—would work with just about any color.

This very classic natural leather pair suggests the 70s, but does not feel stuck there.

Such strappy kick-around-on-the-weekend fun, and with some real height. Plus, the fact that these are a nice blue keeps all those straps from feeling too dark and clunky.

Brooklyn’s own Nina Z makes a small line of cute clogs at decent prices, and if you’re in the borough, you can always find them on weekends at the Brooklyn Flea. That’s where I discovered this pair, which after two summers, I have worn into the ground. You can barely see this shoe’s best detail in this picture: it’s a seam coming straight up the middle of the front of the ankle strap, and it’s quite chic.

Possibly the most dressed-up clog sandals in the brief history of clog sandals, in fancy silver metallic leather.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. After hemming and hawing (is that what that phrase really looks like?) over various clog sales on Fab, this has put me over the edge. I must have these silver ones, or the tri-color. Regardless, considered and done.

I love clogs. I have a regular pair in black suede with a peace sign on the side. My fav pair. I really like the silver ones here, too.

Clogs, clog boots, why not clog sandals?
The only think I wish is that no.6 clogs would make clogs with less than a 2 inch heel so we could wear them all day.
I do love Swedish Hasbeens and Roeffler Randall’s designs…and Sven has some nice ones this season too? Oh clogs, the perfect shoe. Let me know if anyone does find a wedge clog with a lower heel. I would love some no.6 clogs.

You didn’t include my favorites – Funkis, swedish clogs by way of Australia. Love the Very High in Grey…

Consider also the Fluevog “Joni,” a sort of clog-ghillie combo in fun colors. I recently bought it in red. Very comfortable (but do size up 1/2 size).

Clog sandals may be the most perfect shoes ever. I love them with jeans, especially.

I am drooling over these pictures and the other commenters’ links. It may be because all of the shoes are so cute or it may be because my feet are sooo tired of living in socks and loafers and are dying to show off pretty toes in the fresh air whilst surrounded by cool (in both ways), cute, comfy sandals.

@farha bano – Dansko has some cute sandals with lower heels than the ones shown here. I need to replace a pair similar to these

because I wore them everywhere over the last couple of summers.

Clogmaster is the only way to go if you want clogs. They are made to order and, believe me, they have everything you could ever want plus things you never would.

You need to have a fitting then you can order whatever you want online or over the phone and they send it to you. They do fitting appointments periodically in big cities. If you are lucky enough to live in Portland you can just go in.

I have the silver style, but in black. (I am not normally a clog person, but these are so incredibly comfortable, I almost bought two pairs. I love them with jeans with the slightest of flares. They run small (or did when I bought them), so you probably need to order a full size up.

I second the comment about Clogmaster – she is fantastic. She usually comes through NY in the fall. I wear her clogs almost daily and I even brought my mom to her last year.

However, her clogs are all made by Sven, and they have a good website and super nice customer service if you want to buy from them directly without a fitting. They also have an amazing selection of colors, materials, and base heights, a daily sale clog, and an excellent closeout section. http://www.svensclogs.com

They will also mix and match the sizes for you (which is essentially what a fitting from Clogmaster is doing) – for example I needed a 39 base but the top was too tight, so they put a 41 top on them instead, no extra charge. You can figure this out with a little trial and error and the magic of buy and return! I have a pair of silver diamond t-strap Sven clog sandals that I adore and can’t wait to wear again if summer ever returns. Clogs!!

I considered the Hasbens you have pictured and I bought them last summer and they are the perfect sandal. Cute, a little sexy, comfy, and go with anything.
