Chinos aren’t having a big fashion moment out there in the world, but they’re always having a big fashion moment with me, and I’m pretty much dying for this super-snappy (yet, alas, splurgy) Nili Lotan pair.
A lovely, clean-lined army green pair with an unfinished hem, which I know not all of you are fans of, but which I still like.
Usually, I like the slouchiness of chinos (because of course I do) but this Vince pair is curve-hugging in a way I can get behind too.
The leopard-print cuff here is a fun touch.
A higher rise sets this pair from J. Crew apart.
These come in a ton of cool colors, but I’m partial to this faded-out black.
And finally: just a really well-priced pair.
I have never liked the “stripe down the side” trim on chinos…until now. Suddenly, I can’t get enough of them. Maybe it’s the desire for the illusion of slimness I think it will give me?
I know some are suspicious of the cut, but the wide leg chinos from Everlane are really cute and fresh for spring. Whenever I wear them I get so many compliments!
Apologies if this is a repost (looks like my first one evaporated) — but the kids are thinking about khakis lately, too:

Also, Sundry’s Le Soleil pants are similar to the Lotan pant, for about half the price. (-:

All.Of.These.Pants.Are.Too.Short. May the ankle pant trend die.
The second to last pair are almost full length! (And the leopard cuff if you turn it down, though who knows if that’s an option.)
It can’t die! I’m loving not having to hem. In a perfect world, we could accommodate all?
Ugh, yes. I pray for the death of cropped pants daily. I actually need new chinos and can’t find any that aren’t cropped.
YES
I love the comfort level of chinos and at first glance, I like them on me. But then I take a look at my rear and all bets are off – my butt looks completely hideous. But the Vince ones show promise!
Yup. Baggy butt issues here and the pockets also wing out on me.
Yes, this.
The combination of vertical pocket and pocket open at the side seam never works on me. Horizontal or diagonal pockets hide the apparent difference between how much my hips actually curve and how much my hips should curve for the pants.
I too love chinos but we have a complicated relationship. My holy grail is the pair that doesn’t stretch out before noon. I paid good $ for a pair of AG chinos and after one wash they were a poochy mess. I am hesitant to buy another pair.
You and me both! I bought a pair of AG chinos last summer and wore them maybe twice. Something about the back pockets on chinos, they don’t do my back end any favours. I need jeans/pants cool enough for the summer though so shall keep looking.
I have despised chinos since the beginning of time. Why wear something so unflattering when there’s DENIM!
Digging the leopard print cuffed pair.
Love the Nili Lotan pr. Hate the price. Want. Them.
Chinos of any color are great for where I work (contractor at a military base). They walk that line between relaxed and casual. Yay!!!!
I love chinos but they do my curvy hips & butt no favors.
I’ve got those faded-out black Anthro chinos from last season but hey, they have the “Nili Lotan”-style (as I think of it) stripe down the side! They always look a bit slouchy but I love them.
