I always find a lot to like at Alex Mill—their clothes are tomboyish enough to be right up my alley, but they’re cut for women’s bodies, which I appreciate too. And since I’m counting the days, minutes, and seconds until spring, I thought it might be nice to look at their newest offerings, starting with this cotton cardigan, which I believe is just desperately cute.
I’m very intrigued by these chinos (which come in several colors): The high waist is not too high, and they look nicely slouchy.
I do love a good rugby stripe tee.
This sweater jacket is the kind of piece that adds instant polish to an outfit.
And speaking of polish, this linen overcoat will have you looking all kinds of spiff.
Alex Mill excels at jumpsuits, and this zip front number is their newest offering in that category, and I want it.
A coated canvas weekender that looks like it could be from Barbour.
And finally, this recycled denim chore jacket gets all the little details right.
Their jumpsuits fit me beautifully, and I have a cardigan and sweatshirt I wear on repeat. The quality of Alex Mill is top notch.
I wish I liked Alex Mill as much in real life as I do in pictures!
So frustrating to live in Canada sometimes – they don’t ship here and I love their stuff.
Nordstrom carries some of their stuff, if that helps?
Sometimes they do but not right now. Just checked again 🙁 Net-a-Porter has a few things tho.
I had the same experience back in the day with Banana Republic. Everyone else looked great in it, and the pieces I had were objectively lovely… but I developed an irrational aversion to them. It wasn’t them, it was me!
I haven’t yet taken the Alex Mill plunge, but I do love everything about their look. It’s as if the The Gap from the 1980’s was born in France and sprinkled with a dash of Esprit for good measure.
Perfect description, Tahe!
i worked for the Gap in the mid 80s and i often look at Alex Mill’s stuff and wonder if Alex is raiding his dad’s archives. some of it is so reminiscent that it can’t be an accident
Well, there you go! No freakin’ wonder!
I “think” Mickey is on the board of Alex Mill, so yah.
Esprit!! ❤️
Nothing I’ve tried from Alex Mill has fit (yet) but (1) the customer service is top notch – I “chatted” with a representative about a coat you posted a while ago and within half an hour I had a picture of an employee wearing it in my inbox – and (2) they appear to “small batch” so don’t let things hang in your cart for too long. Also, that sweater jacket is “nerdy cool” perfection.
Love the button tab waist on the chinos so you can cinch them in if needed. Also, I saw a woman walking down the street Super Bowl Sunday wearing a linen top coat like the Alex Mill one––can’t, of course, say it was exactly the same, but I can say it looked dynamic on her––she was wearing it with some distressed jeans (no holes, just faded) a white sweater and off-white Chelsea boots. And she was wearing the coat open so it billowed out behind her in the breeze. Really outstanding look.
I’ve purchased three items from Alex Mill over the past couple of years and for some reason they languish in my closet. A cute blouse, a black linen dress, and a pair of pants. So, different types of garments. They were well made and stylish and fit me well. But for whatever reason, I just don’t reach for them. I gave the dress away, occasionally rotate the pants in for a wearing, and have (dashed) hope for the blouse every spring. I’ve concluded they’re just not the brand for me. I have no idea why. It’s like a successful date with no chemistry.
Having said all that, I enjoy whenever Kim posts on their new seasons and highlights her favorites. And reading about others’ experiences and proud purchases!
If I were a jumpsuit person, I’d probably want that one. It’s pretty cute.
I love Alex Mill knits and fabrics but the sizing and dropped shoulder seams don’t work on my body type. The other day I was following my teen around Target when I spotted a striped crew neck sweater that was a Alex Mill-ish copy and bought it. It’s not luxe but it is soft and fits very nicely in a slightly swingy way with side slits. The brand is A New Day.
