I don’t much miss living on the Lower East Side, but I do miss being within walking distance of several favorite stores that are now a subway ride or Uber away. Coming Soon, tucked away on deepest Orchard Street, is one of those places—a boutique full of fun, witty, and chic items for the home, like this gorgeous vase.
I don’t know what to say about this confetti-bright chopping block except for that I obviously need to own it.
These trays have a kind of retroish vibe, and I really dig the combination of hues.
These standout vintage travel wine coolers come from 1980s Australia, and I think they’re so fun.
As are these cheeky oven mitts.
A waterproof shower speaker with suction cup for mounting on walls or whatever: a genius gift, and a pretty cheap one too.
These cheese knives are just the cutest, and they go great with the chopping board above.
Likewise, I am enchanted by these sock slippers, and think they’d be an ideal gift for those people who it’s impossible to buy for, because who wouldn’t be charmed by them?
It almost hurts, how much I want this fuchsia and orange mirror; also, these coasters have a similar vibe for a lot less cash.
I could not be more thoroughly delighted by these cocktail napkins.
And finally, some really cool and graphic melamine plates.
Wow…. you found the righty store for me. Thanks for introducing us!
I don’t have that particular shower speaker but I did purchase a shower speaker this year and I can tell you it’s life-changing (and perfect for listening to Everything is Fine). I have also given several as gifts and all recipients have loved it. It’s one of things you don’t realize you were missing until you have it and can’t imagine living without it.
I bought one for my niece, and the shower singing has increased in both frequency and volume. It’s hilarious.
Those travel wine coolers look like they came straight out of the retro TWA terminal (now hotel) at JFK! Very cool stuff, and you must get the mirror for yourself!
Does anyone know, how does that 3rd cheese knife work? The one that is bent? (I looked at the page but it was still unclear to me.) I guess the paint scraper one is for soft cheeses?
What a great find for me, thanks, Kim! I’m going to scroll through every single item 😀 Already found an amazing match caddy/striker:

Just had a chance to listen to the new podcast…I believe the woman who runs Deux Moi is Cricket Lopez. At least that’s what I heard. The best “wedding” I’ve ever known about took place in Texas. A couple had a big backyard barbecue saying it was a backyard barbie and noting else. The only people who knew it was a wedding were the parents of the bride and groom. After everyone arrived, had a couple of drinks/beers the wedding couple stood on their deck called for everyone’s attention at which point a friend of theirs who was a judge came out, did the whole justice of the peace thingy and that was that. They all partied on and instead of a wedding cake they had several hand-crank ice cream makers and a live band appeared as the barbecue supper was served. It was a we-had-a-great-party-and-oh-yes-we-also-got-married. No guest bags of swag, no pastel colored almonds, no cake, no champagne, no first dance, no bouquet. The bride wore her favorite sundress the groom wore his boots.
Sounds beyond perfect
Fabulous!
I so agree with CW. With weddings, I’ve realized if you just incorporate stuff you like in your everyday life, people think you’re a genius, plus more fun and comfort. I knew a lady who got chili dogs from Chris’ Hot Dogs (a Montgomery institution) for her wedding reception. For us, we did our rehearsal dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant and had a cheesecake wedding cake (each tier a different fruit topping). On another topic, I love this shop! They have Mosser glass stuff I’ve never seen before. I’m going to make a point of looking at the site when I need color therapy in the drear of January.
I didn’t know I needed oven mitts but now I do and they’re sold out, so now I need oven mitts and I’m sad.
This is fab. Would love to see more rundowns from cool NYC boutiques!
I would, too! I love supporting small businesses, and they always have a selection of cool things you can’t find anywhere else.
Kim. I own that chopping block. It is very, very cool but also arrived warped and does not have feet to keep it from slipping on my countertop. I put some rubberized feet on so it’s fine… I would definitely go to the store to check it out before purchasing; it’s also very heavy!
Good info, Sxydocmal. I love it because of all the happy colors…maybe I could hang it on the wall…;-)
It looks amazing on my countertop for sure 🙂
I was going to ask–can it go in the dishwasher? I love it!
Oh my goodness my parents still have that wine cooler! I shall have to steal it next time I’m home. I can confirm that it was definitely a party essential in the 80s in Australia.
