A treasury of striped sweaters

13

I think people typically think of stripes as most appropriate for spring and summer, but I like them all year-round, and especially like them on sweaters, like this one from Allsaints that has a hint of sparkle you can’t really see here.

You don’t necessarily need a quantity of stripes on a sweater: this one, with them just at the waistline, is aces.

Likewise, the one big stripe here is really graphic and appealing.

This half-zip merino wool number is fantastically layer-able.

The pale pink and charcoal grey make this one look like a well-loved vintage find.

Here’s one comes in a ton of colorways, all cute as can be, but I like this one best: so bright and happy.

This pocket pullover has a slightly retro-ish appeal.

And here, from Alex Mill, is a cardigan that couldn’t feel a lot more French.

And while we’re at it, this cashmere turtleneck is pretty French chick too, and the price is unbelievably good.

OK, one more French-looking one, from Madewell.

I am dying for this merino wool polo shirt. I’d layer it over a long-sleeved tee and under a blazer.

The micro-stripes on this mock-neck sweater really pop.

And finally: this bright option looks as easy to throw on as a T-shirt.

My youngest daughter, her BFF, and I used to sing that together whenever we were wearing a striped sweater, of course!

SUCH a stellar roundup. I would happily wear most of these but that Alex Mill cardigan would actually fill a hole in my wardrobe.

Many appealing sweaters here (and I am more of a stripe admirer than wearer). I like that second one a lot and also a lot of the Frenchie ones. And, while I was snooping around Nordys, I saw this one:

I know somebody here knows someone who needs one.

I do not need any more sweaters. I do not need any more sweaters. I do not need any more sweaters. But damn, I want that La Ligne cardigan, and that Alex Mill one, and I could definitely find room for the half zip from La Ligne.

That last orange Alex Mill one — so perfect. I can see putting it on and immediately being in a better mood.

Would love a post about the chunky boots. I bought two pairs and love wearing them with dresses, but am having issues finding the right wide leg pants to pair them with. Anyone else have this problem?

I’m super picky about stripes (as in, I think I have only three striped items in my entire wardrobe – one of which was a KIm France recommendation) but have been very tempted by all the La Ligne sweaters you’ve posted lately.

Love the big graphic Acme stripe. I would pretty much wear every sweater here and would feel like I was the coolest girl on the street. (I’m also suffering from terrible insomnia so my imagined “cool girl” is simply my fantasy as I am not––the insomnia is because I bought a new car yesterday and woke up at 2:30 this morning missing my old car which was a 2008 and filled with sand from the beach and covered in dog hair and doesn’t have bluetooth or any other sort of techno miracle so it’s completely nonsensical that I miss it, but there you have it) Side note: the pink and grey is actually pink and moss green!!

I understand you missing your old car, cw. Time heals.
