Sweaters like this are—for me, at least—like a middle-aged lady’s version of a blankie: cozy, warm, and familiar. This excellently chunky number also comes in black, but I’m really attracted to this happy green.
A cute fisherman’s cardigan that almost looks hand-knit.
This nicely oversized specimen is made of an alpaca blend, and is therefore extra-cozy.
I’d wear this one just as shown here, layered over a hoodie.
The creamy hue on this Alex Mill sweater is absolutely perfect.
I like that this patch pocket option has a slightly fuzzy texture.
This one is super-soft and rings in at just under $80.
Is anyone else having trouble posting comments here? They don’t seem to stick!
Hm, trying again, re. cardigans: Quince has some terrific versions, both slouchy and tailored, in cashmere, merino, alpaca, and cotton. (Thinking maybe my previous posts weren’t sticking because they contained links — will try posting those below.) (-:
… This is their classic cardigan, which fits with shoulder seams right on the shoulder bones: https://www.onequince.com/women/cashmere/cashmere-cardigan-sweater?color=black
Yeah, if you include too many links, the algorithm thinks it’s Spam.
I’m on the hunt for cardigans that aren’t oversized and don’t have dropped shoulders. It’s like finding a needle in the haystack. They used to exist because I have some, but they’ve seen better days.
Uniqlo has a number of options that seem to fit that description.
Great fall inspo. Love the look of it layered over a hoodie. Thank youuu Kim
That green one is beautiful. J crew Carrie’s a cardigan in that color (it might be the same as that cream cable-y one further down). And it comes in bigger sizes! I also like that gray Uniqlo one. I might need a big ass cardigan with pockets to hold my tissues. 😜
In Jan I bought a fishermen’s cardigan almost identical to the Jcrew one, from a brand called Demylee (I found it on The RealReal). It became my go to sweater for the rest of the winter, warm and cosy, and just big enough to layer under without looking sloppy
Great collection! That happy green Cos sweater is *chef’s kiss* — especially with the matching buttons. I bought a similar ivory one from Cos last fall and can attest to its comfy-ness and durability. For that one, I did replace the buttons with some vintage ones for a different look. Also, that non-wool Gap one at the end is on major sale, so yay.
The uniqlo sweater is AMAZING. I bought it in cream but want it in green and gray too. For the price I feel like I can justify it.
Am I alone in being leery of the hip pocket? I love the utility but they often accentuate an area that is better left in the background.
I want the Alex Mill in paprika. I can’t wear that color, but it’ sooooooo happy! I love a good cardigan. Always have.
