No sooner had 2022 arrived than nasty winter weather touched down as well, and this—combined with the endlessness of the pandemic—has me, and many others of my acquaintance, fairly cranky. I’m not saying that a pretty sweater in happy hue will fix that, or even make much of an impact, but it can’t hurt. This Rachel Comey number is so excellently fluffy and yellow.
The rainbow stripes here are just delightful.
And I think this cardi is the prettiest powdery pink.
This just feels like a smile in sweater form to me.
Just a cute red cardi for throwing on whenever your outfit needs a shot of color.
An amazing fair isle sweater that looks handmade.
As does this one from Alex Mill.
This colorblock option strikes an appealing funky-but-sophisticated tone.
I like how oversized this one from Cos is.
A well-priced, nicely graphic crewneck.
I dig the exaggerated polo neck here.
And this lavender cardigan is just divine.
The contrasting stripes are a cool touch here.
This cashmere mock-neck comes in like a zillion good colors and is pretty cheap, for cashmere at least.
And finally, this Vince funnel neck is a nice, substantial choice for freezing days.
Pretty sure I need ALL of these. The red Alex Mill cardi is making me VERY nostalgic for a similar one my grandma knit me in the 70s.
These are lovely and completely cheered me up – thank you!
What a gorgeous post! And boy, does Alex Mill have my number. But I live in Florida and MUST NOT BUY SWEATERS! Before Covid, travel was reason enough to indulge, but now? I know I have more than enough for the dozen or so chilly days and nights I get here. Still, still…let’s just say, tabs are open, lol.
I wish Alex Mill didn’t make all their sweaters with wool! And most of the others on this list….
+1, Anne
Excuse me while I put my fingers in my ears and chant “lalalala” to drown out the sound of the “contrasting stripes” cardigan from ShopBop screaming my name.
Such a happy post! As I dismantle my house and belongings of 24 years, I am not allowed to acquire new things, but love to see them and dream of a time when I have an appetite to shop again. Also heading south for a month, for the first time ever. Boy does that make me feel old (and very fortunate). And about the discussion earlier, I have found most of John Hughes’ movies to be really awkward (at best) watches in recent times. Was excited to show them to my kids, and upon watching realized there was so much wrong. I can’t put into words the emotion around nostalgia for that time in my life and gut punch that the stereotypes (not a strong enough word) were so awful. I love this community, and the honest and painful discussions that arise are important.
Best cheerful clothing post EVER! Trying to justify the expense of the rainbow stripe because how could you possibly put that sweater on and find yourself depressed! Outta the ballpark, Kim, outta the freaking ballpark!
Can anyone help me understand why the KULE, THE HOLLY – RAINBOW sweater is dry clean only? Do they mean that? It’s mostly cotton, and c’mon, it’s a casual where-anywhere sweater…
Vince sweaters are so good that they might as well just charge my bank account immediately when they make something as nice as that lavender cardigan.
Pretty, but I could never wear a sweater in any shade except black, grey, and camel. A summer dress – maybe – in red or yellow; but a sweater, no can do.
ok just went down the cos rabbit hole…i think i may have found my new kryptonite…fantastic prices for great style AND a commitment to sustainability…ok. first clean closet. then take a deep breath. then back to cos.
got me again…i’ve never ordered anything from cos (before this morning…) but that big yellow sweater…
