- OK guys, I know I have been perfectly awful about doing links lately, but they are pretty time-consuming, as is writing a book, and something had to give. Some of you have written in that you miss them, though, so I will try to bring them to you on at least a semi-regular basis. First up: these sporting events compressed into single composite photos are a kick. (Kottke)
- The deadliest clothes of all time. (Collector’s Weekly)
- I loved these Edward Gorey book covers. (Dangerous Minds)
- Fearful flyers should definitely not read this. (The Cut)
- This interview with the peerless Isabella Rossellini is just great.
Thank you for the link to Edward Gorey book covers — I am a huge fan of his work! Just love it, also love your blog : )
So glad they’re back, even if you need to scale back to do your book (I am looking forward to that, so a little of robbing Peter to pay Paul). I thought I missed an announcement that you were stopping them.
I’ll take these whenever you offer them up. I was missing them but figured you were putting your time into your writing.
Thank you.
Thank you for the links. I so enjoy these!
I hope you know how much the links you post are appreciated – you always find the most amazing stuff! But of COURSE you should scale back to make room for your writing!!! Thank you!
I think all fearful flyers will click through just to know why they should be even more fearful – speaking from experienceš Seriously, how horrible and scary for the folks on the plane and so sad for the woman and her family.
Thank you for taking the time away from your book, really looking forward to it!
Thank you for giving in to peer pressure, but…keep that writing space alive!
I really enjoyed this selection. You do seem to have a great “link” talent!
Thanks for the links, Kim! But donāt worry about them…Iām so excited about your book…priorities!
I do love Kottke and take a certain Wisconsin pride in his roots. š
Thanks for the links!!! Yippee
An even better book on deadly fashion is Fashion Victims, by art historian and curator of the Bata Museum’s recent exhibition on killer fashions, Alison Matthews David: https://www.amazon.com/Fashion-Victims-Dangers-Dress-Present/dp/1350005088/ref=mt_paperback?_encoding=UTF8&me=
(I’m not the authorājust an enthusiastic reader :)).
There are questions about the originality of Wright’s work and the extent of her borrowing from David’s: https://markoconnellstudio.com/2017/04/04/popular-fashion-historian-plagiarized/
Wow! Interesting topic, and interesting situation surrounding the scholarship.
Links are back! *dancing*
š for the links!!
The recommended fashion and housewares are the heart, but the links are the soul of your blog.
