If you’re a fan of Charles Grodin, you should know he was basically the biggest mensch on the planet. He was pretty much responsible for my career.

I loved his work in “Heaven Can Wait,” one of my favorite movies ever. Also in “Dave.”

You’re right, of course, Kyle. Thanks for the heads up.

You have NO idea how much the McSweeney’s piece on Rush tickles me; my (ULTA-conservative) SIL loves Rush and we could. Not. Be. More. Different.

I think you have confused Grodin with Alan Arkin in the In-Laws.

I went from laughing at the McSweeney’s post to crying at the last words of the death row inmate in Texas-the state that currently wins the “most f-ed up state” right now. ( I live in Austin).

I have had several weird experiences with RHOC, one indirect experience involving a neighbor who dated one (thank goodness that ended as she was very abusive) and one more close to home. One of the RHOC rented my brother’s house without informing them. It was a complete sh*tshow as they really didn’t have any money to speak of and were more like grifters. This couple wouldn’t pay their rent, forged all kinds of signatures and did over $10k of damage to the home. (It’s a whole post in itself!) In the end, my brother had to hire a real estate attorney to remove them. On the air, they played it off as “We’re looking for a new home to buy. Yay!” Word of mouth spread as people learned they were looking to rent in my neighborhood. I have never seen the HOA move so fast as to institute a bylaw that no filming was allowed in the association boundaries, which put an end to that potential nightmare
