- The good, the bad, and the wackadoo of New York fashion week street style. (Vogue)
- Here’s a trailer for Private Life, which stars Katherine Hahn, and is about a fortyish couple trying to conceive. (Vulture)

- Planned Parenthood has a new president.
- I wasn’t all that surprised to learn that this is the age when your self-esteem peaks. (The Science of Us)
Just read this fascinating essay on pockets, and thought you (and other awesome women) would enjoy it! (tried to send a message but something happened—error!!)

Also not surprised about the self esteem article. Although I think my fifties (after age 51) were pretty self esteem strong. This is a subject I’ve discussed at length with my daughter hoping that she will avoid the pitfalls.
The only thing I found slightly interesting about NYFW street style was how many women were NOT wearing uncomfortable looking shoes (i.e. super high spike heels). Otherwise, I thought most of the looks (or lewks) were pretty chaotic––which is fashion commentary on the state of our country.
Awesome links…thank you!
Yay for self-esteem! Texas sucks (sorry to people I love who live there).
that Jezebel article about what Texas schools teach their kids is so depressing I will proceed directly to those lovely fall jackets.
I’m a product of Texas schools. The whole rise of the religious right began w/ taking over Texas schoolboards when I was in jr high. First thing they did was ban books, starting w/ Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings.” I had some great teachers who ignored the bullshit and did their own thing. May that grand Texas tradition continue. Also, go Beto!
Thank you for sharing the Private Life trailer, I will be watching this. Looks promising that they hit some of the notes of what it’s really like.
