Just in case anyone logs on on Saturday…breathing huge sighs of relief! My daughter and I were dancing together on FaceTime within minutes of the Biden Harris announcement. Joy!

Such relief! And slept better last night than have done in ages. More fight ahead, but a moment to savor in enormous gratitude to all those, especially the women of color, whose work made it possible

I’m a little bit concerned about Gillian Anderson’s Thatcher.

I very excited for this season but I don’t remember Thatcher well and thus won’t be a harsh judge of her. Wasn’t G. Anderson raised in London? I know that the nuances of accent are complex. As a dual Brit / U.S. citizen myself I cannot parse British accents well. Too much of my life spent in the states. A bad accent can ruin a performance for those in the know!

Same here! I know she can do a mean British accent (at least to this American’s ears), but it was coming close to nails on a chalk board. I’m also not feeling Lady Di’s wiggy hair. Still, all forgivable because I love the series.

At the beginning of the pandemic someone shared the Tom Schnabel Rhythm Planet playlist “music to soothe your nerves” and that is all I can absorb as I wait for the push notifications on my phone.

Insomnia be me. Woke up at 1:30 last night and was awake until sometime after 4 a.m.––this has been my pattern all dang week. Maybe by the time you do a posting on Monday we will have a winner. Hope everyone has a smooth weekend!! Thank you for this list!

Speaking of insomnia: You’re so good at finding things…I’ve been looking for 100% cotton knit pajama sets (no buttons because big boobs cause gapping.) I found a pair from The Vermont Country Store. While the style was just right, size small was comically large. Also, what’s with the pastels and flower sprigs? Another pet peeve, pjs with penguins and snowmen on them… No thanks. I know this sounds picky but I don’t think it should be so hard. Sweet dreams!

Well … I didn’t expect this week to be the way it’s been, and I am grateful the better candidate won this time, grateful for a fair and civil election, and I am mildly hopeful that we can all work on communicating better. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised anyhow. In the old days, it was hard to pick a restaurant if you had more than 3 people. We are so lucky to live in a democracy. And I am lucky to have an online place to go and blather, when the mood strikes.

While I told my husband the AP results, I did not say what I’m about to say next because I want it to be another woman with whom I first say it (sniffly and happy tears in eyes). Viajera, we’re going to have a woman as vice president.

Yes, it is a happy day. We need more women in politics. It’s pretty amazing. We are blessed. And Harris is highly competent.

Kim — Thanks for a fabulous Friday collection of links. The 20 free documentaries is a real treasure trove. I have a work deadline today, but just couldn’t resist watching a couple anyway.
