I am in the market for a new rug—living with two dogs means they never last too long in my home, no matter how hard I try to take care of them—and am super-close to pulling the trigger on on this chic pink one from Aelfie.
These marbled plates remind me of some I’ve wanted forever from Astier de Villatte and John Derian, but which were too crazy pricey (and fragile) to ever consider going for. This set of three is way cheaper than those (while still not being exactly cheap).
This incense holder is so graceful, and also clever, and it seems like a silly thing to buy for oneself but I really have a thing for it.
I love how graphic this Christian Lacroix mug is, as well as the pale pale pink background.
These bright woven potholders remind me of the ones I used to make at summer camp, but a lot better executed and with a cooler pattern.
I am always in need of bookends, and love the shape of this retroish and poppy yellow one.
For a number of years now, A.P.C. has been offering a small-but-fantastic selection of quilts made with their surplus fabric. In that time, I have coveted quite a few of them badly, and this one in particular would look perfect in my bedroom.
And finally, here’s the only thing I actually did buy recently, and it’s not the sexiest purchase but I’m very happy with it: this spiff striped sheet set from Brooklinen, in percale, because percale makes me feel like I’m staying in a good hotel. The stripes would be so matchy-clashy good with that A.P.C. quilt, by the way.
Those machine washable rugs are legit. Great for people who live with dogs!
OMG I have the same sheets from Brooklinen! Love the rug– get it!
I have them too and love the feel. However I must say the stripe pattern (contrast + spacing) makes both me and my partner somewhat bug-eyed when we’re making the bed, and we have friends who’ve had the same experience. I wish they were just a liiiiitle bit wider.
That awesome quilt is a nice use of fabric remnants. Not a new idea by any means, but nice to see in fashion industry.
The rug is gorgeous! I love changing up details like rugs – it can change the whole look of your space.
There is a larger selection of those plates on Food52. I’m feeling like I need those also!
I love those bookends.
As for incense, I just put the smoldering stick in a potted plant.
That quilt is everything! I want it but the dimensions look too small for a queen bed, right? I guess I’ll have to console myself with a potholder.
I wish percale sheets came in better colors. I’m tired of white, but who wants dirt colored sheets?
Dirt-colored sheets are actually ideal in a two-dog household.
I’ve got a three-dog household. Any dirt-colored comforter/duvet suggestions?
Imagine that rug on a dreary, overcast winter day. You must have it!
I say go for that pink rug! So cheerful and who doesn’t need cheerful!! I just rummaged through Roller Rabbit the other day looking for printed sheets so sheets with an interesting pattern or stripe are definitely warbling around in my brain. Sidenote: I received both my striped shirt and sweater from the posting on stripes the other day. The Treasure and Bond button front short-sleeved top is a treasure (apologies, couldn’t help myself)! And the Acme sweater from ShopBop is so good I may have to order another in a different color combo. Love love love both so thank you once again, Kim, for posting!!
Lots of fun choices! I hope you pull the trigger on the APC quilt and the sheets – they would look great. I’m a fan of the rug, too, and the bookend. I’d buy the bookend if it fit with my traditional decor and 15-year-old color palette, but alas, it wouldn’t work. An idea for a future house.
I agree about the quilt! Imagine the dreams every night when you sleep under a piece of art.
What a lovely way to put it! I lurve the quilt also.
Agree! Kim, you NEED that quilt. 🙂
Kim,
This is a response to a post you did a week (or two?) ago re Retin A…. So I’m to lazy to add links, but google Bakuchiol oil. It’s a plant derivative that has been shown in evidence based studies to have similar benefits/act like Retin A, without any irritation. I but the Herbivore one at Sephora (again to lazy to link) and am loving it. I should add I have the most hyper sensitive skin in the world, and this stuff is doing nothing but good for my skin. Let us know if you decide to use it!!
Bought the Herbivore one, not But!!
LOVE the intense holder. Rare find because it will look lovely when not in use and so cool when in use.
