A little hit of metallic can go a long way towards making even the most boring outfits a little exciting, and that’s largely why I am craving a pair right now. I’m also in the mood to look at warm-weather options today. I own this clog sandal in the yellow, but am considering acquiring this pair too, because I think they’d be pretty versatile.
Veja sneakers are sourced and manufactured sustainably, and their design is so good in a really classic, old-school way.
Many of you desire a post on low-heeled sandals, and I will bring you one sooner than later, but in the meantime, I think these are pretty snappy.
These cage-toe slides would look fantastic with worn-in jeans and a simple white tee.
I like that these flat sandals are elegant-looking, but casual at the same time.
Here’s a slightly more streamlined—and nicely priced—version of above.
When they’re rendered in metallic leather, espadrilles get a little fancier.
This pointy-toe flat is so excellently new wave.
I’d wear this cork-sole platform all summer long: they just look so easy and walkable.
I have a pair of silver oxfords that go with everything and get comments from everyone…ages 4-85. They’re the best!
Pulling my gold clogs out of the closet as we speak.
Last year I splurged and got this pair of flats, by Katy Perry of all people. (The whole line is actually pretty good!) https://www.amazon.com/Katy-Perry-Womens-Pewter-Medium/dp/B01MSYSGPB I get so many compliments and they really do go with everything.
OH MY GOD
Love this! I have and love the Veja Esplar sneakers in gold. They are so comfortable and pretty!
How do they run, sizewise?
On such a gloomy day here, this post brightened up my morning. I love metallic shoes, they really jazz up your feet & outfit. If I wasn’t really watching my wallet, I would be springing for those flat Breeze slides.
This is such a good round-up. I would happily wear every pair — especially the scrappy Loeffler Randall sandals. They are the perfect summer party shoe because that heel can handle grass, gravel, indoors, out…
Love all of these. Probably ordering the clogs. I own some silver Vans which I wear constantly (partly because they slip on) and I have some gold flats and gold flat sandals and a pair of booties in a scruffed gold––hummm…seems there’s a theme going on. Oy and Egad, eh?!
WHat a happy post! I love them all. Metallic is such a perfect way to add a little zip! Sometimes I worry a little bit about metallic sneakers, thought, I wonder if they can read a little ‘older lady in Vegas at the slot machine’, but maybe it’s how you style them? Please advise.
Also, I have a pair of silver metallic Birkenstocks that are my summer favs!
Loved those sneakers, had not thought of that, now can’t unthink it. Curious to hear what others say!
I wear my silver Vans all the time and, perhaps because they’re Vans and not something more tradition, but they don’t read Older-Lady-In-Vegas-At-The-Slot-Machine (that description is PERFECT)
I’ve been coveting copper metallic Birkenstocks and just ordered a pair, inspired by this post.
Totally agree…all of the slides remind me of the Golden Girls in Boca and I just can’t get over it. But I think the Vans or sneakers are awesome!
Be still my heart. I love them all but for me its the cage toed ones.
I am very, very lazy in the pedicure dept 😉
I’ve been considering a similar ish pair in black from “intentionally blank” on the need supply web site, but the gold is far cheerier!
I lived in my rose gold Birkenstocks last summer – those are my gateway to these full on metallic shoes – a style I wouldn’t have considered before. The Vejas & espadrilles in particular are calling my name. For when it defrosts around here…
I have a confession to make. I don’t think I could buy anything called “Brooklyn” … even though I have nothing but kind feelings towards the actual borough. First boyfriend was raised there. What can this mean? (And I couldn’t even afford to live in Jersey, I don’t think. Certainly not now!) It must be a reaction to the sort of Brooklyn retail ____ [this needs one of those nice long German words, I think, but, I don’t have one right now] that has recently arrived out West. How absurd these things are. Whereas, I still like things with birds on them.
