I think I mentioned last week at some point that I was liking the idea of metallic touches—they’re an easy way to add a little excitement to an outfit—and so I thought I’d throw together a little post on them for you today. I love a knife pleat skirt, and this one is just so excellent.
This blouse is a good candidate for dress-it-up-dress-it-down treatment: I could see wearing it with jeans on the weekend, or skinny black pants for an evening out.
I want this sweater so much: it’s really wonderfully slouchy, and I like the horizontal ribbing.
When it comes to footwear, I prefer a dull metallic to a bright and shiny one, and this pewter boot gets it exactly right.
A really well-cut blazer that makes just enough of a statement, but doesn’t overwhelm.
Just a really pretty peasant top.
A well-priced peplum jacket that looks so cute and put-together with jeans.
I’d wear this tee like I would any tee, but it would be so much more exciting than most.
A really gorgeous floral pattern that would be so pretty peeking out from under a blazer.
I’d wear a black cami under this sheer shirt.
And speaking of camis, this is pretty perfect.
I have no problem with a bit of metallic here and there. Love the knife pleat skirt! WANT the slouchy sweater.
Love the touch of metallic too: I have several pairs of black tights with silver thread, which I wear around the holidays. And thanks to your friend Andrea… I just bought a pair of silver boots with a kitten heel from the Gap!
I keep waiting for a post you promised awhile back on fuzzy faux fur jackets. Might that be coming anytime soon? At some point the good ones will all be sold out so maybe that’s already happened…
No, I haven’t done it yet but it’s coming soon, promise!
I love that Derek Lam pleat skirt. I’ve seen that style a lot in gold/bronze / silver -i think Zara made a version. I would buy one in a sec if i had more waist definition.
