Cheap and chic of the week

16

I know that I just did a post on utility jumpsuits last week, (and I know from the comments that not all of you were fans) but Everlane introduced this one a few days ago and I think it’s pretty aces.

I have always been anti-jumpsuit but, maybe it’s my Everlane bias talking, I really really like this one. I’m half hoping it runs out in my size so that I can stop thinking about buying it or not.

For some reason that I don’t understand, (but am grateful for), when a certain writer uses the term, “aces”, I am made happy and smile. It also makes me happy that the same writer sticks to her jumpsuit allegiance while allowing the space for jumpsuit dissenters to express our opinions. Viajera, the thing about cropped pants that gets to me is that you have to apply sunscreen to part of your legs and ankles. You shouldn’t have to apply sunscreen to your legs and ankles when wearing pants!

Yes! I heart you, D. Also “jumpsuit dissenters.”

It’s cute but I don’t understand why it is cropped. Other than that someone somewhere has passed a law against full length pants.

This is so funny…I am not a fan of jumpsuits/overalls/whatever because of the Bathroom Factor which was so hilariously illustrated by MaryAlice when you posted last week, however, I woke up this morning (it’s my 68th b-day) and thought whatever Andrea (I Want To Be Her) and Kim post about I’m going to purchase something as a gift to myself for my b-day. Andrea has a black (the color I’ve repeatedly said I’m never going to wear again) slip dress on her blog that I’m probably going to drop my card on because I love the dress (and it’s organic jersey!) and now, at least in my tiny little brain, I must do the same with this coverall even though the Bathroom Factor Fear runs deep within me! Why not? I can try it and if I don’t like it, return it–right?

Nope. Not feeling the jumpsuit (EEK) with the cropped pants (double EEK) Even plumbers don’t dress like plumbers on their days off. Having said that, Happy Birthday C.W.

Aesthetically, I love this one, but I am on board with the peeing dilemma. (I actually wore a short-sleeved one from Uniqlo in the Bahamas a few years ago. No sleeves to fall in the toilet, and I minded getting topless in the john a little less with each trip, which I think was correlated to my consumption of Goombay Smashes.)
