Cheap and chic of the week

16

I don’t make many impulse buys these days—if I acquired something new lately it’s more than likely that the item in question sat in my shopping cart for a good long time before I pulled the trigger. But I ordered these faux-leather joggers from Spanx the millisecond I saw them. They remind me a bit of these Nili Lotan pants, but they’re about a  badillion times cheaper (and that’s even with the Lotans on sale). They also strike me as a good, lounge-y take on a trouser for this very weird fall of 2020.

Aaaaand after we sweat in them, what about clean up (washer or dry-clean only)? I feel like carrot legs in joggers but they look so cute and comfy on straight up and down asparagus people.

These have been sponsored in my IG feed every day. The algorithm knows me too well.

I wanted to order these but the 30” inseam are too long for my legs. And the style does not lend itself to hemming. I requested for a shorter inseam version on their IG, so I remain hopeful. Cute, elastic waist, and vegan is my m.o. this year.

In the same boat! But in love, and I actually really hate joggers as a rule. But the combo of material and style is irresistible. Keeping fingers crossed they accommodate the shorties among us!

I’ve been pining for those joggers. Really would love to hear from a person who owns them. I’m torn with sizing.

Can anyone report on If these get too hot? They look cute but also like they might be a hot flash body heat retention disaster waiting to happen.

Like one of those “I sweat so much then go to the bathroom and can’t get my pants back up” kind of situations?

Does this really happen??? In retrospect, think I got lucky with my menopausal hot flashes. Generally, they occurred at 2 or 3 AM and were enough to wake me up but didn’t last for long or make me sweat. I remember my mother announcing in her teacher’s voice (dramatically) “I am HAVING a FLASH” and waving her arms as though conducting the Orchestra of Hormones.

Ha! My scalp would sweat. And I would ask, is it warm in here or is it me. And someone was always warm too so I didn’t even realize i was having a hot flash until much later when my scalp stopped sweating (hunh that must have been hot flashes).

Yes, they are more frequent at night, but, hooo boy, I have them during the day quite a bit. Slapping a mask on doesn’t help either (but OBVIOUSLY on it goes regardless). But everyone is different, so maybe you won’t experience that. Lucky you!

Done! I am on a bit of a spending binge since it appears I will not be wearing my beautiful clothes for a while, since I work at home at the dining room table and take breaks to walk or cook. Just bought two fabulous shirts from Grayson. And the joggers will be nice with my Biden-Harris tee!

I think these would be gorgeous with a v-neck cashmere sweater!
