Everlane is calling their new flat the Day Glove, and indeed, it fits just like one (they sent me a pair to try). It’s also much more streamlined and chic than your usual ballet flat, if you ask me. It launched today, in six colors including a very good pale pink, and if you’re at all interested I’d advise getting yourself a pair pronto because they’re already selling out in some sizes.
Ok, someone please, please tell me I’m not alone in not seeing the allure of Everlane? I get the whole “price point” thing but the clothes seem “blah,” even for basics. Anyone else feel the same?
You’re not alone. I find pretty much everything they sell too utilitarian and boxy for my liking. Really not loving the shoes, either…
I really like some of their basics but am scratching my head at these shoes. Glad I am not alone!
I hate where these come up to on the top of the foot, they look like hooves to me. LOL!
I’ve rarely heard anyone say that their shoes are comfortable, and they’re obviously not made for a foot on the wider side of normal!
I totally agree!
I can’t figure out the sizing either.
Everlane’s gone in for the boxy look in a big way. A few years ago they did a nice, very basic silk shirt that was maybe kinda blah, but in a good way. But then they decided that all of their shirts would be better if they were shaped like giant square. I sized down two sizes on one of the silk box-style shirts and still felt lost in it — plus the arms were too short.
I think they still make the classic silk shirt, but not in my size or I’d buy it in navy. Dammit!
Reminds me of the good ol’ Benetton days in the 80s, when everything was HUGE. /weeps with nostalgia/
Too late. All colors in my size are sold out.
Sigh. I love this Shoe style ( a la Celine and Martiniano) but my size 9 1/2 feet look ridiculous in them.
I love some of my Everlane stuff (the V-neck cashmere sweater is the best fitting I have ever had)but WHY are all their shirts so square and boxy? A look that literally flatters no one.
I do not like these flats.
I LOVE the square and boxy Everlane stuff. Go figure–something for everyone.
I have one of their boxy silk short sleeved shirts in a mint color and I have to say I was surprised at how flattering it is on me.
I like some Everlane clothes but am not sure about these. I’ve heard great things about Tieks but haven’t taken the plunge. I have purchased 2 pairs of the ballet flats from Softstar Shoes and once I got the sizing right I fell in love. Plus I customized the colors.
Stick with the Softstar–Tieks aren’t worth it. At least if you need any support whatsoever. I have had mine over a year and wear quite a bit. THey’re made pretty well but not worth the price (just my opinion).
Well, this post just cost me $220!
Veerrrrryy tempted to order the pale pink ones.
My feet start sweating just looking at them!! Isn’t this a recipe for stinky feet???
I don’t like their clothes but love their shoes. I bought 2 pairs, black and white, size 9.5 and they are comfortable and cool AF. No sweat wearing them all day long, no breaking in needed.
