So much good camo out there right now

15

Like the clog and the moto jacket, camo didn’t start out as a classic, but it has kind of evolved into one (which is sort of how anything becomes a classic in the first place, right?) But there seems to be a surplus of it right about now, for some reason, and that pleases me. I especially like how it looks with a little hit of bright color, like the yellow piping on this Nili Lotan jacket, which sadly exceeds the GOACA price limit, but was too good not to include.

And speaking of yellow, this jacket is pretty much aces, and loud in the best possible way.

These joggers look deeply comfortable, and stylishly slouchy.

White + Warren’s cashmere travel wrap is oversized and super-cozy, and I really like the barely-there print.

A cute button-down with an appealingly faded-out print.

I am thinking of going for this well-priced dress—I could see kicking around in it on summer weekends.

A snappy little utility jacket with a slightly cropped fit.

I live in these sweatpants—I have them in the black—and am so tempted by this version.

This looks like a Barbour jacket—very classic—but the print makes it modern.

I love a good linen tee—they just drape more nicely—and this is a really good one.

Such an adorable sports bra, and I dig the hits of pink.

The rainbow stripes on these leggings are such a fun touch.

Slip-on sneakers that just look easy and cool.

This silk-satin cami would look fantastic peeking out from under a sweater or blazer; you can also go for the matching track pants.

Just a good, roomy sweatshirt.

More Nili Lotan: these French military pants would be really perfect for spring.

I like that this shirt jacket has a nice, body-skimming cut.

And why not some camo Chuck Taylors? Note the ring at the heel, which may not be for everybody, but which I like.

Camo chinos would look great with a white button-down and bright belt.

It’s just about the rainy season, and you could do worse than this compact umbrella.

I’d layer this crewneck tee under a utility jumpsuit.

I’m one of those people who like camo if it isn’t in the expected greens. I LOVE my black camo jeans––the camo is so subtle that many folks have mistaken the print for flowers! All to say I’m really drawn to the Warren and White pale white camo scarf. I would love a pair of jeans in that print.

Love this – have you seen the new bags from Rothy’s? I’m trying to justify this camo tote: https://rothys.com/bags/products/the-essential-tote?color=Sage-Camo
    I don’t need another tote…or do I?

I am searching for a new job, and to motivate myself to send one more networking email and spend one more minute scouring, LinkedIn, I have promised that I’ll buy myself a Rothy’s bag when I get the new job.

What do you do and where do you do it? Somebody here may be looking or may know somebody looking for a person just like you…. and then you get a job and a bag!

I could probably only support a camo print if it were based on rabbits. I also like the prints which look more like topographical maps.

I’m picturing a coffee mug I owned back in college featuring an amalgamation of copulating cartoon rabbits. Does anyone remember that one?

No … but it sounds like a keeper! I guess I hung out with the wrong people.

I am always drawn to camo, but I never purchase. Historically, it just feels we’re desensitized to the history of camouflage – ie, military, war, etc. Is this just me? I’m pro – hunting – when it is not just for sport. I eat meat, so have to understand hunting. Just can’t bring myself to purchase camo, but the fashion person in me always wishes I could just do it. Also, the mom in me wants to set a precedent for my children. Sigh.

Great post, not really a camo fan but this has changed my thoughts … unfortunately I looked at the Nili Lotan website and oh dear, her models – please feed them. I have noticed ShopBop using more diverse models in sizes and shapes (hopefully they will add some older models too) – nice to see.

Can’t post a pic but the Steve Madden camo Zip sneaker is pretty cute! Link below.

I lovingly poke fun at camo because it’s the fabric of choice for my hunting family members in Wisconsin. But I love to wear it in fashion-y way! So many great pieces here.

I hear you, Val, my family is rife with hunters. Fortunately, they don’t use military grade weapons and they eat what they shoot. ugh.
