Anyone else in the mood to look at some animal prints?

17

As those of you who’ve been hanging out here a while know, I like a good animal print. And I like them best when they’re executed on clean, minimal shapes without too much flounce or fussiness, which was a challenge this season, because there is a lot of flounce and fussiness out there. But this pleated top, for starters, clears the bar.

I just think the wine hue is really pretty on this Nili Lotan sweater.

This silk shirt is like a rainbow explosion of happiness.

I like how simple and graphic the print on this sweatshirt is.

I think this blouse would look super-pretty peeking out from under a blazer.

A cute and well-priced big huggy sweater.

The tonal print on this sweatshirt is nicely subtle.

I’ve been seeing women wearing little scarves like this one with button-downs, knotted side out, and I think it’s a really good look and would like to give it a shot.

These snake embossed slip-on sneakers from Vince are so sharp-looking, and have a decent platform too.

The leopard print on this blouse is really rich-looking.

And I also adore the print on this Ganni skirt (which also comes as a dress).

I’m always happy to throw a little red and black into the mix.

I was on the fence about including these zebra-print sneakers as they are a bit much, but I feel like the right person could really make them work.

I personally want this dress very much for spring: such a fun but elegant shape.

And finally: how cute is this graphic tote?

I swear sometimes that you can read my mind. I’ve been wanting a leopard print sweatshirt and the Rails one is perfect!

I like something a little more fitted and feminine, AND I like a little color near my face. I love the dark brown and pink leopard sweater at J.Crew; whenever I wear it, I just look more alive. Decent sale right now, too. https://www.jcrew.com/p/womens_category/sweaters/pullover/tippi-sweater-in-leopard/AE445?sale=true&color_name=brown-pink

I am a big animal print lover. I especially love the cheetah and snakeskin prints. But, I am discovering some interesting colors here in your post. Need to go shopping again!

I just bought a Nanette Lepore python print denim jacket at Last Call about two days ago. It’s surprisingly subtle and I plan to wear it all spring with white/blk/grey jeans. Love the zebra sneaks. I can not get behind the neck scarf with a button down––too much 1970’s airline stewardess for me.

It looks like a great jacket (even if I find the concept of SS cringeworthy) but is sold out.

Oops, this was supposed to be a reply to Mae’s comment about Soft Surroundings’ Leopardess jacket.

It’s always a good time for animal prints. I own the Nili Lotan sweater – which has caused a Nili Lotan addiction. I bought the Stories sweater, but returned it because it was too big and bulky for me, sadly. I saw a L’Agence blazer with the print shown on the blouse here and it’s excellent. Still dreaming about it (hoping it will go on sale). I think I need the Rails red & leopard blouse.

I am always in the mood for animal prints and these are all excellent picks. I really like the sleeves on the Ganni top and dress, so sexy.

So MUCH flounce the past (what..) two years. A friend and I have come up with a hazard score: 1st-degree flounce (1DF)- Full sleeves, 2DF- Full sleeves + cuffs, 3DF- Full sleeves + cuffs+ neck or chest business, etc. (Also, as the flounce increases, the “spill potential” increases–this requires an additional rating) As a Fashion Grumpkin, I like flounce on others but not for me.

Also not a fan of the flounce. And am a total Fashion Grumpkin. Apologies to all…

      I am decidedly anti-flounce. #teamgrumpkin

I do not yet know my position on flounce. A welcome distraction from filling out my ballot. Is “flounce” a question of ruffles, or of fullness, or general foofi-ness? Bc without knowing more, I am paralyzed, cognitively speaking. I suspect that while I do not currently flounce … I might *like* to. If the conditions were just right.

I love louder animal prints on accessories, and a subtle animal print on clothing. I just got the Leopardess parka from Soft Surroundings and it is perfection for $120.

Ooohhhh, now I am seriously debating this one, and a “yes, it’ll work in the the rain” would tip it into my catd. Would it work in the rain?

Eloise, I see that it’s now back ordered until April, but yes, it’ll work in the rain. I dislike much of SS’s merchandise (too “feminine” for my tomboy taste, plus I’ve returned things that were made of cheap, clingy fabric), but this jacket was a total score!
