Top 5 of the week: leopard prints

I was off leopard prints for a while, but I’m feeling them again, I think because I keep seeing them on items I really want, like these sweats. I could do without the pre-distressing—I can destroy my own clothes, thank you very much—but still think they’re pretty great.

This jacket is also super-distressed, and it also costs way more than it should, but I am not a little obsessed with it.

Why not leopard print sunglasses?

Leopard prints in fun colors are always a delight, and this mini-tote from Clare V feels both totally cute and nicely sophisticated.

OK, I realize I’m getting way ahead of the seasons on this one, but this faux fur peacoat is just divine.

We are deep in flat sandal season

When I’m in the city, I like to wear shoes that give me some height, but out in Sag Harbor, I can’t be bothered, and kick around in flat sandals. The only problem is I only have one pair I really like, which gets a little gross. So I’ve been on the lookout for more, and these are just a good basic pair—a little on the clunky side, which I view as a plus—and the price is decent.

I’ve got a thing for metallic flat sandals, so there are a couple of them here: this pair is just nice and simple.

As are these.

I think I really want these silver Huaraches.

I love a cross-strap, and these are nice and wide.

The mix of metallic and neutral here is just so good.

You know I like a nice pop of red in a sandal, and the multi-strap look here is fun.

Another pair I’m dying for: this one in denim.

How about a classic Jack Rogers, but in black?

The big old knot here is very chic.

The cotton webbing here is a nice, comfortable departure from leather, and of course I am partial to the stripes.

A whole lot of red

I love red, and it’s probably the most flattering color on me, but I rarely wear it because I have a tough time finding items in that color I like. So I did a deep dive over the weekend, and came up with the following, starting with this dress, which is so easy and really comfortable-looking, but just a little sexy, too.

I love the idea of a pop of color at your feet, and this sandal is so adorable.

Just a pretty, becoming floral wrap dress from Rebecca Taylor.

Red chinos are perfection with a white button-down or tee this time of year.

A gorgeous skirt with such a graceful hemline.

This slouchy plus-size tee has the most flattering neckline.

The tomato red is pretty ideal on this James Perse tee.

Just a fun, party-worthy plus-size dress.

The stripes here area lot, but I think this is really chic, and the price is great.

A well-cut, office-worthy blouse.

The cutaway shape of this blazer is so damn snappy.

An Iro jacket in red makes all kinds of sense: throw it on and your boring jeans and a tee are suddenly a happening outfit.

It’s a little on the bare side, but I am in love with this dress—it is so feminine and kind of sweetly retro.

And finally: these were too good not to include.
