Who wants to join me for a very special Zoom conversation?

16

My old pal Andrea and I (here, enjoying an intime moment at my—gasp—39th birthday party) chat every day at least once under normal circumstances, and exponentially more now. And during one of our recent conversations, we decided it might be a fun idea to have a Zoom call with our readers. We’re going to do it this Friday the 10th, at 5pm ET. If you’re interested in participating, write to Andrea at [email protected], and she’ll put you on the list. We like the idea of answering any questions you might have—about Lucky, the Sassy days, or whatever—so leave those in the comments. This is a first-come-first-served deal, so do not delay if you’re interested. We have no idea how this will work out, having never done anything like this before, but if everyone has fun, we’ll keep doing it till this whole mess has resolved itself.

FYI only, you could also set this up as an Instagram Live (a la DNice and his epic 100K+ jam sessions featuring Michelle O, J. Biden, etc.) and theoretically host an open ended number of ppl, if that appeals. You can both be on same time, but in your homes.

I have questions for the Zoom party- What were your favorite articles in Sassy? Are there any articles you regret or wish had been written differently? Side note: my mom bought me my Sassy subscription when it first came out because she knew that it was the kind of teen mag for me. I still have the one with Kurt and Courtney on the cover. It’s a treasure!

Been meaning to add. I was a devoted reader of 7 Days from 1988 until publication ceased. I was excited to find out you had also worked there. Please share your experiences at some point.

I have exactly two appointments this entire week and one is on Friday at that designated time. (sigh) Can’t wait to hear the reports!

When you are scheduling in ZOOM, there is an option to record the meeting in the cloud or locally. You need to tick that circle. After the meeting ZOOM will notify you when the recording is ready. Depending on which option you chose you can either use the public link–or upload the recording from your machine into your CMS for this site. It is really easy.
