What do you absolutely not need, but very much want?

Yes, those of you who were wondering, I’m still down for Fornasetti, and I’ve always had a thing for stars, and so this candle is just aces in my book.

Lipstick, my favorite and go-to makeup item.

I have been wanting No. 6 New School clogs for years, and there’s just no point to spending that much on new shoes right now. I live in Birkenstocks, running shoes, and, occasionally, Vans. There’s just no room in my life for high clogs right now, sadly.

Does it ever go on sale? My hair needs serious help, so I’m tempted.

Yes, you can usually snag it at a discount during the annual Sephora sale, which starts in early November

While I generally treat myself to a a book or three each month, right now I have this primal urge to buy enough of my wish list to build a child’s fort. A beautiful, impractical pair of shoes in my size I’ve been eyeing on Edith Machinist for months. An autographed copy of Danny Trejo’s cookbook. I’m someone who has seen Badass, Badasses, and Badasses on the Bayou so I’m clearly susceptible to Danny Trejo merch. Also, while I’m at it, with my husband’s health stuff, we haven’t had a vacation in eleven years so fantasies of a mega vacation of New Orleans (where I would eat Louisiana homesick away), Santa Fe, and Los Angeles where, obviously, I would visit one of Danny Trejo’s taco trucks and his donut shop. By the way, I love Danny Trejo’s quote about helping people.

In truth, I probably need 48 hours to really enjoy it. I’d probably spend most of the first 24 hours in shock and quiet disbelief over the fact that I was finally alone for the first time since March.

A private jet so I don’t have to worry about knuckleheads at the airport and on the plane exposing me to Covid when I travel home to see my 86 year old mother, whom I haven’t seen in almost a year.

Same here! But the price was ten times past impossible (we’re talking 3,000 miles each way). I did seriously debate the merits of raiding retirement money to see my mom safely. Instead we’re flying commercial, but first class, and on an airline that appears to have a pretty strict safety protocol (Alaska). Fingers crossed.

I fly Alaska recently and was quite happy – they did a good job of enforcing masks (stewardess even woke up a passenger who fell asleep with his mask off). Hope that makes you feel better about your trip to see your mom!

That Oroton Black Daria hobo bag you just posted about in the Net-A-Porter sale! Ugh, it’s so perfect with that strap. I want it very much but just can’t justify another purse at the moment. But I’ll be thinking about that one for awhile.

A fabulous dollhouse. Complete with antique furnishings and decor. Like the one in Sharp Objects. But without the teeth 😉

I think this post needed a spoiler alert. Just kidding. Guess most of us watched the miniseries.

The full size John Derian for target stuffed skeleton pillow which is sadly sold out. Do not need it, and my dog will likely try to eat it…but want.

I bought the Skeleton footstool from the John Derian drop. I ordered it as soon as it dropped (2 a.m.) and I have no regrets, it is very cool. I plan on using it year round.

I saw that life sized stuffed skeleton! What a great design idea and price point ($60). I coveted it too but decided the kids are too old and it would take up too much space after the holiday. I did buy the moon platter because I have a thing for moons and it did not look halloweeny.

I am so relieved it’s sold out. I have also coveted it, despite having no particular affinity for Halloween and nobody planning to visit my house. But there is something about that pillow that is just so stylish!

A horse. For me and my daughter. Riding is a hobby that is still relatively safe during this pandemic but the stable where we have leased is not able to meet town compliance. We are now at another stable and don’t get as much time there as we want. SUCH problems of privilege. I would never spend the money on this right now when I prefer to support our local food banks, public schools, voter registration organizations but I still daydream…
