Our guest is novelist and New Yorker editor Jessica Winter, and we’re chatting about her excellent new book The Fourth Child, as well as how she holds down a really enviable full-time job while cranking out the writing (and as a single mom, at that). It’s an interesting episode and like I said, the book is really, really good, so do listen in, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, or wherever you get your podcasts. And subscribe to our Patreon for extra-special extra content, like for instance an interview with Sassy O.G. Christina Kelly!
Just had a chance to listen to this podcast this morning. So excellent. Immediately ordered her books and “followed” on Instagram. Ms. Winter is such a smart inspiring woman!
I’m listening to the podcast, and I just want to make a comment regarding show preferences-I cannot watch shows that have no likeable or redeemable characters. Like if there’s no one to root for, you know? Or when it seems like everyone is sort of crappy? So, I have not watched Breaking Bad, or Sons Of Anarchy, or Ozark. A friend recently recommended Yellowstone. I tried it, but everyone is an asshole, so…nope.
I felt exactly this way about “Succession” and “House of Cards”.
