Jenn’s in Iceland being creative (see above) and I’m in Brooklyn with Covid in this episode (I’ve since recovered), and we’re talking about the hell that social media can wreak on our productivity, and being mindful, vis a vis our screen habits. Also, having an existence separate from our partners, making our lives suit ourselves, the particular way the pandemic made us all crazy, what we’re watching, and more. Great outfit on Jen in Iceland –at first I thought it was a photo of the model Lili Sumner!
BTW, the actress who plays Andie MacDowell’s daughter in “Maid,” Margaret Qualley, is her daughter IRL and she recommended Andie for the role. I also thought “Maid” was terrific. This was a nice, chatty episode of EIF. I love that Kim and Jenn, despite their many talents and great successes, are so real and candid about their insecurities, disappointments and frustrations. Those are part of the bouillabaisse of life, even when everything is seemingly fine.
Jenn looks happy and adorable!
Great episode, as always. I’m with Jen on Succession, but all of my favorite shows and movies tend to be character-driven and heavy on witty dialogue with very little plot. It reminds me of Whit Stillman’s Metropolitan and Last Days of Disco. There was even a Tom and Greg-type friendship in Metropolitan. It also kind of reminds me of my favorite Robert Altman films. And I kind of love that it has no real plot because I can never remember what happened from one season of a show to the next.
