Tally – you’ll be incredibly missed! You’ve such a wonderful voice completely lacking in pretense, and brought an uncommon ‘learner’s mind’ to the show. Best to you in your new gig!

I am sooooooo looking forward to this podcast! And I love the new background color because now “the lady” pops. Texas update: the last of my friends had her water restored last night. Our reservoir is still filling, but we should be able to have “normal” water use by this coming Thursday. Lots of people still have broken water pipes and parts for fixing heaters and water pumps are slow to arrive. Grocery stores should be restocked in the Austin area by Wednesday. So, a lot of good news in Austin AND our warmer weather continues.

Glad things are going better in Texas! Lying Ted was grilling Merrick Garland during the AG confirmation hearings. His major concern was partisan prosecution. Guess he’s worried about his role in inciting the Jan 6 riots. He should have stayed in Cancun.

I’m sorry to see Tally go, but looking forward to the new host! I love the podcast; it’s one of the few I really connect with. I would love an episode on what styles work for what body types. Kim you commented on another post that high rise jeans don’t work for you. I don’t think they work for me either, but I’m not sure! And I’m not sure why, if they don’t. Same with hem length, wide leg pants, etc. I have questions!!

Hello. I am the caped, high-rise pants crusader. High rise pants work for long- or high-waisted women. It’s just that simple. Super high-rise pants especially work for these women, who may not be particularly tall, but whose body ratios are long in the torso. Often, but not always, these women have the pear- or triangle-shaped body type.

Why this works for them? They tend to have narrow waists in proportion to the rest of their bodies. This type of waistline ends at the narrowest point of their bodies, which looks quite fantastic and does not emphasize the widest point of their bodies like a mid-rise waist would on them (mid-rise actually being low-rise on a high-waisted person’s body). So it’s a win, and comfortable, too. This is not to say that you shouldn’t try them if you want to, but if you aren’t long-waisted, super high-rise pants might not be a good choice. If course models can wear anything without much effort.

So ends another (semi-) amazing episode of caped, high-rise pants crusader.

I am so happy the podcast is back! Hooray! Tally, I’m going to miss your voice and everything you brought to the podcast. PLEASE come back and tell us all about the new job. What’s the new adventure like post-40? I chased a big dream post-40 and it was the best thing I ever did professionally. We want to hear your story! And welcome to Jen! I love her energy and I am totally here for discussions about clothes, clogs, toe spreaders, and cutting boards. YES to a t-shirt with the new logo.

Oh I’m going to miss Tally! Her voice is so smooth and lovely. I found her tone so incredibly soothing. She never said “um” or “like” and that’s gold in my book. (If I hear the word “like” used excessively in a show or podcast, I turn it off fast.)

Listening now and literally just hit pause because I was laughing so hard at the Cousin Oliver comment that I couldn’t hear what was said next….
