I was born in Houston, Texas in 1964 and have lived in New York City since 1988. I had a long career in magazines, working at Sassy, Elle, New York, and Spin, and in 2000, I founded Lucky magazine, which I edited for ten years.
Perimenopause? As in, does/did everyone go through this level of PURE HELL? The insane discomfort, endless PMSing, outrageous (undressable) bloating, sudden/extreme/seemingly irreversible weight gain, body-shape changes, freakish irritability, devastating insomnia, etc.? How does one dress comfortably and well, while inhabiting what feels like an alien body? How to deal with the abrupt need to replace one’s entire wardrobe with clothing two sizes bigger? (Does that size just keep going up infinitely? Tailoring suddenly seems pointless, when weight stability is so elusive!) Any/all thoughts and suggestions would be much appreciated!
I need Dresses to wear to weddings in Summer. Some sort of sleeve, not a tank dress. Luxe looking (there will be a lot of well dressed and fashionable women there) without being too expensive. But that don’t look like mother of the bride dresses. I think Summer weddings are difficult to dress for. Too many dresses are too casual and too bare for those of us who aren’t millennials. Help needed and much appreciated.
OK – I know you don’t do styling posts – you sort of curate all of these wonderful things together with similar themes, but I would love styling advice. For example, how would you style shoes with shorter length pants in colder climate? Booties only? Cute Loafers/sneakers/clogs with patterned socks? How would you personally style blazers with jeans? I’m a HS teacher and want to look age appropriate but still “cool” KWIM?
yes, yes and yes. i never know what type of shoes look best with each type of pants. maybe the inverse would be easier” what types of shoes to never wear with types of pants. Please?
I am searching for the perfect white tee shirt. One that looks a little polished but doesn’t accentuate the stomach too much and doesn’t come down to my knees and isn’t cropped.
I have found a particularly good one from Soma. It is scoop neck, lined (so no need for a cami, which I hate to wear under my Tshirts), and a good length (not too short, but not much past the belt buckle). It washes really well and is now my go to for under blazers!
Blazers/jackets for work that have a touch of something special: not the boring 2-3 button (plenty of those), yet not with dangly, sparkly, peplum covered, zipper-laden, bow-beridden bits. Too much like a costume. I had a lovely tan linen jacket with elegant seams that created shape. I wore it to bits and miss it dreadfully.
Dresses that fit the short-waisted woman who is larger than a size 10. I can usually wear petites but the options are so limited for someone who’s a 12-14. And, jeans! High waisted styles are flattering but they’re never proportional for my waist. I soooo want to fit into a pair of Levi’s Wedgie jeans but … no.
I’m curious about how to dress for photos – from headshots to dating app pictures. Your comments about holiday party tops make me think that there are some tricks beyond “blazers look professional.”
Backpacks that can hold a laptop but also look adult appropriate and stylish… do they exist? I can’t do shoulder bags anymore as they cause shooting pains in my arm!
I would love to see one investment piece/staple styled multiple ways. Also A-Line denim skirts, fashionable cardigans for the office in spring./summer. I have a black-tie event coming up, so those options are on my mind too.
I have a request no one will be into, but I am desperate, so I am lobbing it out there. One of my beauty must-haves, Lash Genius by Anastasia Beverly Hills, has gone discontinued and I am on the last tube of the stash I bought up while I could. It is a waterproof top coat that I use as a primer after I curl my pin-straight lashes that won’t otherwise hold a curl. They stay put, soft and flexible without increasing volume. I have searched blogs and you tube, tried Clarins Double Fix and anything remotely similar rated well on Amazon. It is my beauty game-changer. If I wear no other makeup, I curl my lashes and put that on. Thank you for your tolerating my very selfish request!
Luxury Handbags! I respect your GOACA price limit but sometimes I’d like a nice handbag – with no or only a subtle logo. Maybe it’s because a handbag always fits??
Airline “legal” carry ons! In December I challenged myself to packing everything I needed in one of these- btw, rolling is the bomb!- for a 5 day, 4 night trip to Houston to visit my brother. I needed a few different types of outfits for what we were doing and I was so pleased that I was able to fit all I needed (well plus a backpack but does that even count??). I want something a little prettier than the one I borrowed from my BiL for my own. I did like that it was soft sided and had more pockets than a squirrel’s cheeks but I’m open to anything.
Yes! Especially for the shorties like me – I’m 4’11” – can I even wear these? Am I doomed to forever looking like I’m playing dress-up?
Or even a post on keeping things proportional for the vertically challenged. I know, find a good tailor, but what do I tell said tailor?
I’ve been smellin’ whatcha got cookin’ with wardrobe/room purges, and refraining from constant shopping and acquiring. What I’d love to see is how you, with the brilliant mind of a fashion editor, re-shop your own closet, re-explore your curated goods, and rock your GOACA personal style to best effect. It’s really easy for me to get stuck in a rut. How do you keep evolving? What refreshes your style perspective most?
“Givenchy’s creations always gave me a sense of security and confidence,” Audrey Hepburn once said, “and my work went more easily in the knowledge that I looked absolutely right. I felt the same at my private appearances. Givenchy’s outfits gave me ‘protection’ against strange situations and people. I felt so good in them.”
Sometimes I long for a suit of armour. Would love to know what you wear when facing challenging situations – at work, or socially.
Low slung business trousers. I used to wear them with a blouse every day to work & haven’t found any in ages that aren’t cheap spandex or polyester. I’m desperate!
I have a conference/trade show coming up (Game Developers Conference, San Francisco). It’s cold, it’s hot. I have a company tee shirt. It’s always skinny jeans, Stan Smiths/Vans, cardigan or perfect jacket/blazer I have yet to find, gold hoops, blow out, lanyard. [Work] parties at night.
Oh yes please! Work bags that are smart enough to take into CEO and board meetings but hip enough I don’t lose my style. And here’s the kicker: they have to be super lightweight because the combo of the after effects of chemo and a shoulder girdle that doesn’t seem to stay put means heavy bags (eg leather) just make it impossible for me to carry any content. I’d be just thrilled if you could solve this one for me!
I was going to ask for a work bag too. I am thinking structured, leather, something that stands up by itself, not just a tote (ie with lining/ interior pockets), and has some interest–texture, cool hardware, etc. Also must have straps that go over your shoulder or be a backpack.
I am also in the “work from home” situation and live in athleisure clothes. Once in a while, I need to dress for a business meeting and don’t quite know what to wear. I don’t want to wear a fitted blazer. Ideally, I would like a knit, or something like ADAY.
Household-item request: I’d love a post on chic planters that don’t cost a fortune. It’s easy to find lovely ones, but they’re so often upwards of $200, and since I have at least a dozen good-size plants that could use new pots, that price point is out of reach.
Thanks for throwing this out there to us, Kim, and thanks for all the great ideas/requests! I’m so on-board for city-schlepping comfortable clogs, “my neighbors don’t deserve to see me dressed so ratty” downtime/casual attire, and stylish/practical rain jackets (Chicago my be the Windy City but we sure do get more than our share of depressing rainy days).
Please, oh please, options for us busty ladies. Specifically bathing suits and specifically one pieces. There are tons of cute bikinis and tankinis with cup sizes but for the love of God I just want a one piece that contains my big boobs that isn’t a Miraclesuit. I don’t want to hear about Aerie or anyplace like that because I’m an adult lady that breastfed a baby, not an adorable millennial.
You have to spend money and you have to shop the lingerie-sized brands, like Fantasie or Freya. For some reason the English are best at this, so I would recommend ASOS or even Evans, in addition to Herroom etc. Also, lots of people like Lands End, although my experience has been mixed.
I so feel you on this. I have had really good luck with bathing suits from Bravissimo. Online/catalogue only for the moment (they are opening a store in NYC soon), but the customer service is excellent and there are lots of good choices.
Oh. My. God. It’s like a whole new world has opened up to me! Thank you so much for these suggestions! Bravissimo and Fig Leaves are amazing. Thanks for seeing me British brands!
Agreed with all the suggestions you already saw. Also check barenecessities.com — not the selection that the Brits have, but they’re US based and you can get free shipping.
Wow, thanks you-all! I had no idea the British were good at this in particular (love my British cousins tho). It’s fascinating!! Cross-cultural boobology. I wonder if there’s a dissertation on it already. Human beings, wow.
Is it only British bathing suits, or their clothes generally?
Here’s the shredder. And I thought the fact that it was up off thhe ground away from dogs would make it work. Now kicking myself for not buying one in Morocco but rugs (plural) and a window were enough! https://www.worldmarket.com/product/bajot+stool+with+sari+pouf.do
Daily wear walking sandals, watches, readers. Bonus ask: Where do you see pants/jeans going in terms of length, leg, rise, and overall cut, and what shoes work with the newer cuts?
How about sleepwear that looks good & feels good for the perimenopausal? 🙂
Graphic tees & sweaters particularly plus size!
Lightweight (ie NOT leather) crossbody bags good for all day use.
And just a spring accessory upgrade.
And I’d LOVE a moto jacket – not the harley davidson style, but the euro style – again in plus size…
99% of your audience won’t care, but I swear there is some kind of conspiracy against women with size 10.5 feet. Most brands offer half sizes up to 10, then jump to 11. The exceptions to the rule are either a) hideous, b) really expensive, or c) both. I’d love for you to prove me wrong. Sincerely, Girl of a Certain Size.
Yes! Plus, my foot is also a *wide* 10.5. Try finding a shoe in that combo that doesn’t look like a potato, and I would pay $$$. What is it about wide widths that cause shoe manufacturers to turn a completely blind eye to fashion?
What does a woman over 50 wear to Stagecoach Festival (3 day country music festival in Southern Ca desert). I have VIP tickets, which means will be be backstage with those totally decked out – I don’t need to be that, be I want to fit in, look good and be age appropriate!
Jeans/jeans equivalent/lightweight flowy pants and casual top. If Stagecoach is anything like SXSW (and, I mean, of course it is aside from completely different season, different weather, and different physical setting and organization), you’ll see everything, dress for weather and sun protection.
Speaking of socks – I have a hard time combining socks with loafers or oxfords. Usually models in photos wear them without socks, so not very helpful when it is still cold outside. I know you should match socks with your pants, but when it is not all black, I am challenged.
Thanks. Love your blog.

hair accessories seem to be making a comeback; how about finding some wearable versions for all hair types and lengths? a sane price point for these would be appreciated. and speaking of price points, i would also love your version of a breakdown of GOACA price range by item (clearly we might spend more on a dress, as it’s a whole outfit blah blah blah). i think we all have different thresholds for different items, for instance i would spend much more on boots than i would on sandals, etc but maybe you warm weather girls are just the opposite?
Would love a post about remedies for thinning hair. I’ve lost OODLES this past year and I’m heart broken as I’ve always been the one with the good hair!!
If you happen to come across any nice-looking suits or suit-like garments which are either lightly lined or unlined in the shoulder, I’d be very interested.
Or something that is a knit suit, but isn’t super expensive/ladies who lunch-looking. (Not that there is anything wrong with that… ) But if possible I think I prefer woven … probably not possible though. I can’t deal with bows, though strangely I am okay with pearls, real or fake. Oh well.
Also, I am and have been on a search for cotton blend full length bootcut or flare pants … Midrise if possible … but I hesitate to ask bc I do not think anyone is making them now. Also, it’s probably boring.
Thanks! (even if you don’t get to it…)
Since I’m here … can I just say … am having a bout of PF in one of my feet, which is really cramping my style big-time. But, I just got a pair of the EVA Birks and I *love* them!! I wear them in the shower and it is super helpful. And it is good for the world if I smell better! I think I will be starting a new relationship with that company. Hope they aren’t fascist haters or anything. Of course one still has to be careful when showering, but the traction seems fine so far. I wish I’d gotten them sooner.
Here’s an idea for a post (unless you already did it?): Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me Sooner
What about jumpsuits for a dressy but not black tie wedding? My cousin is getting married and I want to wear something really fun as the only/oldest cousin that will be there without husband/boyfriend/partner.
My white whale: pants that aren’t jeans and can be worn to a business casual office, in a material that won’t bag. The kicker: in sizes 12-14 (if not higher).
As usual, I’m all about jeans. In particular, anything slim-fitting.
I currently have an amazing pair of Mothers with one hole in the knee which I’m reluctantly going to return today, due to the fact I’ll be 50 tomorrow. So any advice you have would be fantastic!
Another request I have is vegan moto jackets! Love the look of leather ones but I feel like a hypocrite as I don’t eat meat. Just waiting for someone to take me on and ask about the double standard. Not a relaxing thought when getting dressed.
How to wear (lots of) color(s) without feeling like a clown. Or just, how to feel confident buying colorful accressories, because I am always defaulting to black, and it’s boring. It’s not like I don’t LIKE color, I just find it a little overwhelming at times.
Your picks for cute spring shoes. Are sandals with socks really ok? Or you know, where to find good socks.
I have a wedding in Italy this summer and my husband and I are flying on the cheap (using miles) to a smaller town in Denmark. From there, we’ll make our way down to Italy (no hard itinerary yet). I’m OK for the actual wedding, but would love suggestions on what to pack for 2 weeks in Europe. Ideally, I’d like to keep everything in a smaller roller suitcase, and maybe one carry on. Thank you!
I believe there was a very nifty post about a trip to Europe not too long ago, with also had many helpful comments. If you haven’t already, you might do a search here. Of course an update is nice too.
I like the website “une femme d’un certain age” for her wardrobe packing list advice. Have gotten good ideas on choosing clothes, as well as tips from her readers. Here’s the link: https://unefemme.net
I love all of these suggestions. Spring is coming, so my priorities are chic rain jackets that don’t feel like you’re wearing plastic; not-twee hippie blouses which you’re just the best at sussing out; and blouses which have that flattering draping that forgive the waistline so well. Oh, and maybe any cycling gear you’ve found that looks sharp around town when you’ve gotten off the bike. Athleisure that performs.
Kim, I stand by my earlier request for a post on high(er) end subscription fashion; your thoughts on which services seem to deliver the goods (no pun), and what experiences others may have had. They seem to be growing in popularity even among those of us who shrink from letting others pick our clothing. I love to shop but I admit I’m intrigued by some of the brands that aren’t available at retail.
I received a gift card to try Stitch Fix. I wasn’t very excited about it since I love fashion and love to shop. Who wants to delegate that joy?! Not me! Anyhow, I did FOUR rounds (they send you stuff, and I returned EVERYTHING each time). Item quality equaled Marshall’s sale rack.
Ugh, Stitchfix. I tried, I really tried. I gave them my written preferences, I sent them a Pinterest. They just could not get it right. They sent me trendy cookie-cutter fashion that I could find in the nearest mall. I got one pair of great office pants and a lot of returns. Cancelled after 4 installments.
Ugh, SAME! I tried StitchFix 3 times and was crazy-specific in what I liked/didn’t like, sent them a pinterest board, etc. I returned every single item because every piece was absolutely terrible – either it was made cheaply, was ugly, or was specifically something I said I didn’t want (typically it was all of the above). The Marshalls comment was perfect, because it’s like they they sent me all of the rejects off a bad sale rack and tried to pass them off as trendy. Don’t do it!
I couldn’t agree more especially with the services that send items available somewhere at retail. I just thought maybe you had some experience with some of the private label options. Feel better. I may try one and report back.
Weirdly (swlfishly?) specific, but, colorful, fun smallish ottomans/poufs/footstools? Bought what I thought was the perfect one from World Cost Market but the “pouf” was made of thin, recycled silk saris and it shredded within days – even before it was discoverered by the dogs….
I don’t know how you feel about ‘capsule wardrobes,’ but if you’re not a fan, what about a post sharing the 5-10 pieces you would absolutely have to have if you were still sometimes going to work? If I missed a post on this, maybe an update? Thank you!
Second! I’m trying to buy less and repeat more (because of both budgeting & anti-fast-fashion concerns). It would be great if we could see a 10-essentials for Spring (and then Summer, etc.) that could be styled together to make 7 million outfits 🙂 (well, maybe 17 outfits would be good too!) – thanks!!
You always have amazing taste, Kim. How about full length, wide-leg denim, scarves or loafers? I don’t wear heels at all, and am always looking for snazzy loafers
Dressy flats that are stylish and comfortable. I love the look of the M. Gemi Stellato and all the lower-priced knockoffs (Steve Madden, Me Too), but these shoes have no support! Where do you look for cute, walkable, non-sneaker flats?
Yes! I see adorable sandals all the time, but with all the walking I do on sidewalks, there’s no way I could wear them without wrecking the shoes and my feet.
I may be wrong … but my guess is, if you want something that looks good, you’re going to have to put in an insole. Except maybe with an oxford. (Anyhow I think our feet can be different and we’re better off with a removable insole.)
As for closed-toe flat looks, I like the d’orsay flats a lot, though I haven’t gotten around to actually buying any yet.
Yay! I work from home and rarely need to dress up.
Basically my wardrobe looks like everyday is dress down day. It’s not great. I Would love some styling suggestions. I need to up my game, even if I’m just running to the grocery store again..
But even more importantly I adore your playlist! Time for another one :-)?!!
Sequins. Graphic or print t-shirts (as in not stripes which seems to be my entire upper body wardrobe universe right now). Crossbody bags that are on the smaller side (phone, keys, small wallet). Print/stripe/embroidered possibly(?) jeans. Watches.
This might be a weird suggestion for a post, but I have been working from home for the past year and basically my fashion has gone by the wayside now that I don’t have to ‘get ready’ and go to an office every morning. What does one wear during the day that’s not random crewneck sweatshirts and some varation of lounge pants? I basically look a bit homeless at the moment, and feel bad for my husband/the mailman/whomever I come in contact with during the day that has to look at me. Also, what sort of investment pieces do you suggest now that I can spend my money on clothes I love/long-lasting pieces instead of fast fashion for the sake of having enough clothes to not repeat outfits too much in an office setting?
I’m in a similar boat – I went full-time military later in life (late 30’s), now wear a uniform everyday and if I’m not in uniform I’m in workout gear. BUT I love fashion and really miss getting to buy dresses and skirts for work. I don’t have many places to wear dressy clothes, so for me I would like to see a post on everyday, quality pieces that are a bit edgy/fun but still timeless. (Maybe that’s too contradictory an ask?)
I work from home, and my solution to this in the chilly months is cashmere. Nobody ever looks homeless in cashmere. In the spring, a hippie blouse and stretch denim; heels will take you out to a restaurant, sandals for errands
I’m in this camp. If you could do a round-up of great track pants, preferably under $300;), and tees and sweats, for those of us who work on our sofas but sometimes have to Go Outside or Do Errands. Thank you in advance.
Oh this is me. 100%. In the process of kondo-ing all of the old workwear (too small, too old) in my closet but need to replace with pieces I love and want to wear on the regular.
So…I know I’m way late to the game but I have a burning question! I’m doing a house swap with a friend this summer and as a result am headed to Paris with my husband, 14-year-old daughter and her friend. We love Paris and of course, I plan to walk off all the Trump pounds. What that fucker has done to my waistline…Anyway. I’m thinking maybe sandals and a pair of chic sneaks? I’d like to purchase ahead of time so there is no breaking in period while cruising the catacombs or wandering Le Marais. Think you might take this one on at some point if not this week? Thanks in advance. Glad you’re on the mend! Gros bisous!
Do a post on glammy, formal suits, a la the fab Altuzarra suits Evan Rachel Wood frequently rocks the red carpet with – I’d love to find affordable versions of those ensembles!
And you often cater to petite and plus-size shoppers, but never tall chicks – how about a post on where to find high-quality pants with inseams that are 34″ or more?
Are there any ways to look cool and stylish without wearing jeans/pants? I’m short-legged and skirts/dresses are more flattering for my body type, but I cannot wear them the way you can wear jeans and look moderately cool without really trying.
Also, hippie blouses and unstructured top/dresses don’t work well for me (unless they have a set-in shoulder) because I have small sloping shoulders; I am small-boned and easily swamped by too much fabric. I miss my little sheer undergarments with tiny shaped shoulder pads from the 90’s. HA!
Honestly, I’ve kind of given up. But maybe not completely because I’m still reading this blog.
I’m looking for serious clothes, not in black, to wear to funerals. This is harder than it sounds. No minis, nothing too tight or too low-cut, please. Thank you.
What are your top 3-5 places to shop (or recommend) for funky stylish women (with real bodies) over the age of 40? I’m having such a hard time finding well-fitting causual pieces that aren’t frumpy or blah.
I was born in Houston, Texas in 1964 and have lived in New York City since 1988. I had a long career in magazines, working at Sassy, Elle, New York, and Spin, and in 2000, I founded Lucky magazine, which I edited for ten years.
I’m desperate for a non-leather version of Everlane’s Glove flats!
Just leaving a comment to say that you are not alone. xo.

This. All of this. My only addition would be a price point that is reasonably affordable.
Mother of the bride dresses for early fall. Arms covered for marriage ceremony on the beach. Please please, I need help.
Affordable linen T-shirts please!
I’ve found the perfect red cardi, now I just need to figure out how to afford it.
*Request: An occasional aspirational woman post with your analysis of the pieces and where to find them. I like those posts. I like it ALL!

Spring/summer vacation apparel ideas would be so welcome!
Yes! Two special snowflake requests:
Mid-length skirts which are not awful, but are suitable for business casual, and
Office suitable trousers which are comfortable and have pockets!
“Best Of” the easiest brands to shop online for a semi-professional office setting. No sleeveless or too short.

how about a list of websites/ blogs/vlogs
and

Yes,please!!!
Low slung business trousers. I used to wear them with a blouse every day to work & haven’t found any in ages that aren’t cheap spandex or polyester. I’m desperate!
White tanks that aren’t sheer.

Household-item request: I’d love a post on chic planters that don’t cost a fortune. It’s easy to find lovely ones, but they’re so often upwards of $200, and since I have at least a dozen good-size plants that could use new pots, that price point is out of reach.
I’m with you. $2400 for planters – I just giggled out loud.
And ditto swim cover-ups.
You have to spend money and you have to shop the lingerie-sized brands, like Fantasie or Freya. For some reason the English are best at this, so I would recommend ASOS or even Evans, in addition to Herroom etc. Also, lots of people like Lands End, although my experience has been mixed.
Yes- Bravissimo or Figleaves. you cannot go US. Brits have WAY better options.
Your favorite blogs and Instagrams.
Here’s the shredder. And I thought the fact that it was up off thhe ground away from dogs would make it work. Now kicking myself for not buying one in Morocco but rugs (plural) and a window were enough! https://www.worldmarket.com/product/bajot+stool+with+sari+pouf.do
Oops, was supposed to be a reply to my earlier post about poufs, ottomans, etc. Feel free to delete – sorry!!
Raincoats! With climate change it rains buckets in my city. All.the.time.
Daily wear walking sandals, watches, readers. Bonus ask: Where do you see pants/jeans going in terms of length, leg, rise, and overall cut, and what shoes work with the newer cuts?
I second Tammy Darmagnac’s suggestion! What does one wear on dates after a certain age? Also, I liked LG’s suggestion about petites.
Thoughts about thrifting? Would also love to hear your take on ethical and/or eco-minded fashion. Also: closet curation.
Spring wardrobe basics! Did a quick search and don’t think you’ve done this one. Perhaps combines some of what others have mentioned in one post?
How about commuter bags? A bag to carry the “office” shoes, ipad, etc along with my purse without looking like a bag lady. Thanks!
High-waisted wide-legged jeans. Cool reading glasses under $50.
OOh – have you seen the brand Peepers? Really fun / cool frames… about $25.
Some tasteful sexy looks for woman over 50? What does one wear on dates after a certain age?
Whatever we want!
Clothing and accessories for ROACA (Rockers Of A Certain Age). Or those who fantasize about being one.
Books?
Speaking of socks – I have a hard time combining socks with loafers or oxfords. Usually models in photos wear them without socks, so not very helpful when it is still cold outside. I know you should match socks with your pants, but when it is not all black, I am challenged.
Thanks. Love your blog.
Antje
hair accessories seem to be making a comeback; how about finding some wearable versions for all hair types and lengths? a sane price point for these would be appreciated. and speaking of price points, i would also love your version of a breakdown of GOACA price range by item (clearly we might spend more on a dress, as it’s a whole outfit blah blah blah). i think we all have different thresholds for different items, for instance i would spend much more on boots than i would on sandals, etc but maybe you warm weather girls are just the opposite?
Here’s an idea for a post (unless you already did it?): Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me Sooner
jcrew has a blazer that works for me – the “going out blazer” – knit, very pared down, comes in gray, navy and black, petite regular and tall sizes.
Thanks!!! Will look.
I had a twill, olive, fitted blazer from Madewell that I loved. I keep trying to find a similar one!
Oooh, I didn’t look there, thanks!
Gold chain chokers and gold hoop earrings❤️❤️ Thank you!
May I amplify one of your wishes? IN A MATERIAL THAT WON’T BAG! Right there with you.
Yes jumpsuits of all kinds!
Old Navy Pixie full length pants — come tons of colors and patterns and up to size 20. They have just enough stretch to not be baggy but not too tight.

Yes, please!!!!!!
Accessories for petites(scarfs, wraps), good earrings (ie. gold, silver, keepers), cool but feminine t-shirts (ie. vnecks)
Packing list for a trip to London/Paris for a week in April
…and through the first week in May.
check out Vivienne Files for lots of fabulous packing lists
Yes, blouses AND dresses that camouflage the waistline!
I had no success with trunk club, either.
I’m not a fan of subscription fashion services, Betsy, because I don’t think an algorithm can mimic personal taste.
Betsy, I’ll shop for you!
I don’t think it’s selfish at all! plus, this assignment sounds fun. I have no experience with poufs though.
This will be controversial, but how about ponchos, capes, and caftans?
Dressy flats that are stylish and comfortable. I love the look of the M. Gemi Stellato and all the lower-priced knockoffs (Steve Madden, Me Too), but these shoes have no support! Where do you look for cute, walkable, non-sneaker flats?
Yes! I see adorable sandals all the time, but with all the walking I do on sidewalks, there’s no way I could wear them without wrecking the shoes and my feet.
Along these lines, lower heeled dress shoes that don’t look like my grandmother would wear them!
Spring travel packing ideas!
I am still looking for a stylish, functional, not too big, not too small, fits in a locker, gym bag – in either the sporting or non-sporting breed.
Clogs and coveralls. Bonus points if you make them happen together.
THIS. It’s all I want to wear, forever. But I need the *right* ones.
Investment jewelry please! I’m about to turn 40 and looking to buy myself something special, but so many jewelry stores and options look so…dated.
^^^^^This is me. It’s tragic.
Oh this is me. 100%. In the process of kondo-ing all of the old workwear (too small, too old) in my closet but need to replace with pieces I love and want to wear on the regular.
I love clogs, especially no. 6 & Hasbeens. But would love a post on mules and slides for Spring that are as comfy as clogs.
What about white sneakers? Are they still stylish? What ones?
Swim cover-ups, please!
What about clean ways to store and travel with electronics?
How do you alter/style somewhat old fashioned dress pants?
I’m looking for serious clothes, not in black, to wear to funerals. This is harder than it sounds. No minis, nothing too tight or too low-cut, please. Thank you.
What are your top 3-5 places to shop (or recommend) for funky stylish women (with real bodies) over the age of 40? I’m having such a hard time finding well-fitting causual pieces that aren’t frumpy or blah.
how about some cute travel outfits, aka “airplane outfits”?
Modern courthouse wedding dresses that are not boho and maybe have sleeves. Also, petite clothing!
