New podcast episode alert and BIG news!

39

Our newest episode of Everything is Fine features longtime beauty editor and columnist for The Cut Jane Larkworthy, who is hilarious and smart and knows everything there is to know about beauty, so do tune in—we cover a lot of ground. Also, I’m quite thrilled to announce that as of right now, we are a weekly podcast. How exciting is that? Listen in on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Having waited out the pollening, today was the first time I spent extended time past my porch since March 15. My drift roses needed their first feeding, as well as their and the herbs’ first haircuts of the year. Happily, there was enough rose food left over from last year. Then, there was this excellent news. Hooray! This has been a good news day for me.

How fun- looking forward to a long walk and a listen this weekend. I worked with Jane on a project in 2018 and she was just lovely.

Love it! Jane was my ski camp counselor when I was 12. I never became a skier, but I do not blame it on her.

Two things in one post that make me so happy: spatchcocking and Instant pot. OK, three words. America’s test kitchen has the best recipe for spatchcocking a turkey as part of a Thanksgiving meal. The Instant Pot will change your life.

That was fun! I am not sure if Jane Larkworthy is witty or intimidating. Maybe both. Good news on upping your frequency. I like to listen to a podcast at lunchtime and not have it always be The Daily.

Congratulations! That’s so wonderful to hear. I listen while I’m doing dreaded chores or while I stretch. You both help time go by much faster and give me great food for thought (which is a fave of mine)

Your best one yet! Thank you for making the leap to weekly—have been rooting for this, ever since you launched. You two are great and I love your points of view.

Congratulations on committing to a weekly broadcast! Really enjoyed this one as well…I think you and Tally have a great rapport and I’d listen if you guys just wanted to keep chatting away. I think I jive better with Jean G-J, but did end up buying the Iris & Romeo foundation that Jane recommended!
I really, really hope you can snag Bobbi Brown for a guest appearance!

Update on the Iris & Romeo foundation….just got it. It looks thick and cakey in the jar, but when you rub a dab in your hands and apply it as you would any moisturizer, it’s lovely! Goes on so smooth with a wonderful glow and evens my skin tone quite perfectly. An excellent purchase!

Hooray! I’m now all caught up on the podcasts, and I’m looking very forward to more of them. You guys have been saving my sanity during this lockdown. Will you post links here to the products Jane mentioned in this week’s show?

Enjoyed this one. I layer sunblock on my face – SPF50 and moisturizer of SPF30.
I, too, collect beauty products but wear no makeup (none since pandemic) and before that it was e/l, blush and bronzer (but never any foundation).
Drinking plenty of water is essential but mainly I think my good skin is simply genetics.

Soooo, when the podcasts start spacing out to every two or three weeks, instead of weekly, does that mean we can leave the house? 🙂

Good episode. I’m glad you mentioned that Jane, like most make-up artists I’ve seen, wears very little make-up. What they do is a good no-make-up-make-up…. and that’s what I like to do. I also like that you girls addressed the neck and the lips, and what really works – fillers. I’ve never gone that route…. YET.

I agree with Melsybelsy about wanting to hear a shoe episode. I would also like to request a swimsuit episode. I have a great body…. but it’s almost 60. It doesn’t want to be seen in a bikini but it revolts against skort-bottom suits and tankinis. It wants its butt covered properly!

Yes – good stuff. All of your podcasts hit it out of the park. The beauty ones really speak to us – we are at the point in our lives on whether we want to invest in doing something or letting nature be nature – Hearing things that a seasoned beauty editor has done over the years is very interesting! Also – request: Would love an episode where you talk about shoes/feet – as we get older this really is a thing and I always wanted “cool” not granny shoes – what’s the compromise? How do we navigate that?

God, yes please. My feet hurt all the time now. (Will be 60 in a few weeks) I am just now beginning to desperately google shoes with the word “cushioning” and what I’m seeing makes me want to cry. I like Arcopedico but not enough ball of the foot cushioning and made of fabric so not good in the winter. Help!
