I was born in Houston, Texas in 1964 and have lived in New York City since 1988. I had a long career in magazines, working at Sassy, Elle, New York, and Spin, and in 2000, I founded Lucky magazine, which I edited for ten years.
Am I the only one REALLY worried today? I had to go on a complete media embargo a couple of weeks ago. I just couldn’t take it. What will happen if the GOP wins again?
If only all states made voting as easy as mine (WA State). I voted a week ago by mail and didn’t even need to buy a stamp. Voting from home also allows you to make your vote informed because you can actually research the candidates you know nothing about.
Of course, we all know why red states make it so difficult, but what’s going on with some of the blue ones?
I early voted for Beto. Today I am only watching tv kind of stuff on my computer, looking at sites like GOCA and reading. Otherwise complete media blackout because I am so freaking nervous.
I was SO excited to vote today with my daughter and husband! And we made PROGRESS! Let’s be excited about flipping the House BLUE…especially in extremely gerrymandered districts! And even though I’m sad about the losses of Beto, Andrew Gillum and Stacy Abrams, I’m CERTAIN that we haven’t heard the last of them. They are rising stars! And as I go to bed now, I am hopeful that Tony Evers pulls out a win in the Wisconsin Gubernatorial race and unseats the dopey Koch puppet, Scott Walker. I’m reassured that *rump will have a MUCH harder time in day to day life, and that thrills me. 😊❤️
I’m excited about the progress we made in the House and for the results here in Michigan, but we need to keep working over the next two years to make sure we have a different president after 2020.

Early voted last week, and had to stand in line to do so! Fingers crossed!
Me too! I got there 3 minutes before it opened and I was 4th in line!
You better believe it! Fingers crossed too. (I think we’re on the same page.)
Yes!!!

I, for one, am very worried.
Um yes, I definitely am..

So well said!

My former boss Donna Shalala was elected to congress. That is amazing progress in my book.
