This playlist has no overarching theme whatsoever and musically, it’s quite all over the place. The only way to listen to it is on shuffle. This was fun, so if enough of you enjoy it, I’ll make another.

Totally enjoying this playlist. A few songs are new (St. Vincent) and others are solidly loved. Thanks for doing this. And yes, would listen to another.
Thank you! I have been addicted to that St. Vincent song since it was released – can’t stop playing it!!
Me toooo.
Oh WOW what a playlist. And yeah, that St Vincent song… for any of us who have a lost love in NYC, it’s a weeper. Kim, thanks for this.
Love the list!!!!
And St. Vincent/Annie Clark is a badass…. The video is totally worth a view (as are most of hers – she’s as much a visual artist as a sonic one). Thank you!

I love it! Thanks, Kim!
Great list. Thanks for Linda Ronstadt’s “You’re No Good.” And all the other classics.
Ahhhh, it’s all so good!
#20 – I saw Heavenly play in SF many moons ago and Calvin jumped onstage to sing this with them. The best times!
Listening now. Thank you!!
I didn’t know I needed to listen to the Beastie Boys followed by the Carpenters this morning but I absolutely did. Still working my way through but so far, so fucking fantastic!
this is magic…so over the siriusxm Beatles channel
So many of my favourite songs there! I know this will be on high rotation on Spotify for me. Please, please make a follow up. Thank you!!
Thank you…
“They bully the stereo and drink / they leave suspicious things in the sink . . . ” God, I love that song. This is a great playlist—thank you!
Great job!!! I LOVE Lebanese Blonde and haven’t heard it in ages!!!!
Thank you!
Just in time – in need of a fresh mix – Thank you!
Oh I’m so happy to see The Breeders on here!
More please… perhaps themed for “what i listen to when I’m getting dressed to … ” ???
Love this list kim!
Needed this.
Perhaps a monthly feature?💃
yaaasssssss
No exaggeration to say that this made my day.
Please more and more and more playlists! Fantastic!
Okay. What am I doing wrong. Opened up Spotify on my phone, went to “search,” typed in GOACA, the playlist…nothing. Then I tried about a million other iterations of those words…nothing. Then I handed my phone to my daughter who also tried everything she knew how to do…nothing. So can someone give me a tutorial? Is this saying something about my age? My brain? My tech skills?
Oy and Egad.
Open the post on your phone and then click the play button (at the top of the graphic just above the whole list of songs) and that should open Spotify for you and go directly to the playlist
Thank you, dolly!!! Turns out I hadn’t added “premium” to my Spotify. Problem solved. Music playing!!
The fact that you put “Explain It To Me” by Liz Phair on here means I’m yours forever. I used to play it on repeat 20 years ago when I was feeling dramatic. xo
So much of this makes me SO happy – but especially “Dry the Rain” by the Beta Band.
OMG! I just listened to this and it is fabulous. This will be my new favorite for a long time…. Mary Lou Lord had fallen off my radar. Can’t wait for the next one!
Great stuff! Thanks for putting this all together. Fantastic reminders of a certain past age, and juicy nuggets of more recent days.
Amazing group of songs. LOVE that you put Spacehog’s “In The Meantime” on it–one of the greatest 90s songs, and yet sounds like it could have emerged from a range of other eras. Lots more to love here, plus “Divine Hammer,” which is, for me, the best tune on “Last Splash.”
Solid list. I pressed play and started listening without looking at the song titles – surprised and delighted to hear Worried About You! One of my RS favorites.
Great choices Kim. This made my day and quite possibly my week!
Thanks, Kim!
Thank you! Am listening to the playlist now — fabulous.
One small tweak (we GOACA always have opinions, right?) — Linda Ronstadt has Parkinson’s and is in fairly precarious financial straits. One of the only (the only?) song she wrote was with the Stone Poneys, “Different Drum.” As you probably know, artists get very little money for performing — the big money is in writing and publishing the music. So I added “Different Drum” to your list and encourage all to buy it as well and add it to your playlists. We GOACA need to support each other.
Maybe next playlist could be songs written by women writers/publishers?
xoxoxoxox
Wilco!!! I love you for that, Kim!
LOVE
The Tiger Trap song took me waaayy back and made me super happy.
I’m late, but I love this list. Thank you for putting it together.
All my cd’s were stolen in grad school, and there are still some bands I am rediscovering. I kind of forgot that Tiger Trap existed, and now I’m listening to Super Crush and wow, big mood as the kids say.
Love this! Thanks Kim. I’ll be listening to this for weeks — so much here!
Oh man, I am so enjoying this playlist! Perfect mix of cool and nostalgia. Yes, please continue to do more.
Listening today while I make dinner and fold laundry and I’m singing along .. thanks Kim! Love that Spacehog song. I somehow missed them in the 90’s. So great to find new stuff.
